Endometriosis excision surgery must haves 💛
All of these are in my Amazon storefront 💛
The question I’ve received the most is what items were the most helpful to prep for surgery and that you used after.
I truly would have struggled without these things!
Hope this is helpful 🫶

Undergoing endometriosis excision surgery can feel overwhelming, but having the right essentials significantly eases the journey. From my personal experience, focusing on both pre-op preparation and post-op comfort was key to a smoother recovery. Preparing Your Recovery Nook: Before surgery, set up a comfortable recovery zone. Think about where you'll spend most of your time – a bed or a recliner? Make sure everything you might need is within arm's reach: water, snacks, medications, and entertainment. Having a shoulder heating pad, like the one I used, is a game-changer for the referred shoulder pain from the CO2 gas used during laparoscopy. Trust me, that pain can be intense, and heat therapy provides immense relief. Managing Post-Op Discomfort: Gas pain is another common and often surprising post-op symptom. Over-the-counter remedies like Gas-X were invaluable for me in breaking down those painful gas bubbles. Walking, even short distances, also helps move the gas along, so try to do gentle walks as soon as your medical team approves. Peppermint tea is fantastic for both gas and bloating, and it's a soothing ritual too. Protection and Support: An abdominal binder or compression wrap, similar to the NYOrtho one, provided crucial support and made me feel much more secure, especially on those first few car rides home from appointments. It also protected my incision sites. And speaking of protection, a soft tummy pillow is a must-have. It shields your abdomen from accidental bumps and the seatbelt pressure, making movement and travel much more comfortable. Nourishment and Hydration: Hydration is paramount during recovery. Electrolyte drink mixes, like Ultima Replenisher, helped me stay hydrated and replenish essential minerals. For nourishment, a high-protein diet is vital for healing. I found bone broth, like Kettle & Fire's chicken bone broth, excellent for getting protein in, especially when my appetite was low. Adding it to easy-to-digest rice ramen noodles, like the Lotus Foods brand, made for comforting and nourishing meals. Bowel Regulation: One aspect often overlooked but incredibly important is bowel regularity. Pain medications can cause constipation, which is the last thing you need. Magnesium citrate supplements, such as Pure Encapsulations, taken nightly, were essential for keeping things moving gently and preventing discomfort. Always check with your doctor before starting any new supplements. Remember, every recovery is unique, but having these essentials on hand can significantly improve your comfort and healing process. Listen to your body, rest, and don't hesitate to ask for help!
