NEW KOREAN RESTAURANT 🇰🇷 Bay Area

📍Ondam

Just tried out this new & viral authentic Korean restaurant in the bay!! It’s located on El Calmino Real, Santa Clara!!!

I love the design and ambience of the restaurant. The menus are absolutely adorable and so decorative! They also have these iPad tablets on each table to order food on, which is super convenient 👍🏻

Foods I tried:

Ondam Mini Cheese Tteok

Rate: 4/10

tteokkbokki was rly good; however I am not a fan of the cheese and tasted a little bland in my opinion. I wished the tteokkbokki was crunchy.

Beef Tartare

Rate: 8/10

Definitely better than I thought it would be! I was really skeptical at first since it was my first time trying it. However, it was really good especially with the marinade they used for the beef.

Seafood Kalguksu

Rate: 7/10

The noodles are really chewy and bouncy (in a good way). The broth is very flavorful. When I tell you they did NOT skimp on the seafood. There was so many squid, shrimps, calamari, crab, etc.

Raw Spicy Marinated Crab

9/10 (personal favorite ❤️)

This was also first time trying raw marinated crab. I was so excited because I have seen so many videos of this!! Definitely DID NOT DISSAPOINT. It was not that spicy as it looks, but it was so good! The crab itself was sweet and the marinade was really delicious! The only I regret was not pairing it with seaweed and rice. I would definitely get this again with friends.

⭐️Overall rating: 4.2/ 5

I love how fresh and flavorful their seafood and ingredients in general! Amazing service!!

... Read moreIf you're anything like me, finding a fantastic new Korean restaurant in the Bay Area is always a top priority, especially when it's creating a buzz! When I first heard about Ondam in Santa Clara, located conveniently on El Camino Real, I knew I had to check out what all the hype was about. Many of you are probably searching for "Ondam menu" or "Ondam Santa Clara," and I'm here to give you a deeper dive into what makes this spot stand out. First off, let's talk about the menu experience. The article mentioned their adorable and decorative menus, which are indeed a charming touch! But the real game-changer is the iPad ordering system. It’s incredibly user-friendly, allowing you to browse high-quality photos of each dish, see detailed descriptions, and customize your order with ease. This really streamlines the dining process, especially when you're with a group and everyone wants to see the options. While I highlighted a few of my personal favorites like the Beef Tartare and the Raw Spicy Marinated Crab, the Ondam menu is quite extensive. I noticed they have a wide selection of traditional Korean stews, various BBQ options (though I didn't try them this visit), and an array of banchan (side dishes) that complement every meal perfectly. It makes navigating their diverse offerings a breeze, ensuring you don't miss out on any hidden gems. Beyond the food, my visit to Ondam was made even better by the overall ambiance. The OCR mentioned the restaurant's modern Korean design with light wooden beams, and it truly creates a welcoming and chic atmosphere. It’s not just another Korean restaurant; it feels thoughtfully designed, blending traditional elements with a contemporary touch. The lighting is soft, and the seating is comfortable, making it perfect for both a casual meal and a special occasion. For those searching for "Ondam Korean restaurant," you'll be pleased to know that their service is also top-notch – attentive without being intrusive, which always enhances the dining experience. For anyone planning a visit to Ondam Santa Clara, here are a few practical tips based on my experience. Parking on El Camino Real can sometimes be tricky, so be prepared for that, especially during peak hours. I’d recommend going during off-peak times or making a reservation if they offer them, as this place can get quite busy, given its popularity. Whether you're a seasoned Korean food lover or new to the cuisine, Ondam offers a fantastic array of authentic and flavorful dishes that cater to various palates. Don't skip the opportunity to try something new, like their Seafood Kalguksu, which was packed with fresh ingredients. It’s definitely a must-visit for anyone in the Bay Area craving high-quality Korean food.
