Harley Street Glide at a local show
Oh my gosh, you guys, if you're ever looking for a truly charming small-town event, you absolutely HAVE to check out the Stanton Old Fashioned Days in Stanton MI! I just got back from this year's celebration, and it was such a heartwarming experience. I originally went mainly for the bike show – you know me, always on the hunt for cool Harleys and custom builds, and my Street Glide always loves a good outing! And let me tell you, the bike show did not disappoint. There were so many incredible motorcycles, from vintage beauties to modern marvels, all gleaming under the Michigan sun. It's truly a paradise for any motorcycle enthusiast, with proud owners chatting about their rides and the air filled with the rumble of engines. But what really made the Stanton Old Fashioned Days stand out was everything else happening around it. It's not just a bike show; it's a full-blown community festival that genuinely lives up to its "old fashioned" name. Walking through the town felt like stepping back in time. There were local artisans selling handmade crafts, from intricate jewelry to rustic home decor. I picked up some amazing homemade jam from a sweet lady who's been making it for decades – seriously, you can taste the tradition in every bite! The food stalls were another highlight. Forget generic fair food; here you find classic American comfort food, cooked with love. Think fresh-baked pies, sizzling corn on the cob, and delicious BBQ that smells divine from blocks away. It’s the perfect place to grab a bite between admiring bikes or enjoying the live music. And speaking of music, there were local bands playing folk and country tunes throughout the day, creating such a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere. For families, there were so many activities for kids, from old-fashioned games to face painting. It’s wonderful to see generations come together and just enjoy simple, wholesome fun. The parade was also a huge hit, with local groups, classic cars, and, of course, some of the beautiful bikes from the show cruising by. It really gives you a sense of the community spirit in Stanton. If you're planning to visit next year, a little tip: get there early, especially if you want to find good parking close to the main festivities. And definitely plan to spend the whole day! There’s so much to explore beyond the bike show, and you won’t want to miss any of it. It’s an event that truly captures the essence of small-town America and celebrates community, history, and, yes, some amazing motorcycles. Highly recommend it for a fun day out!
