Union action makes our jobs better, NOT waiting for Starbucks to have a change of heart. It's no coincidence that all of these policy changes happened after union baristas fought for them. There’s power in numbers, and when we fight together, we win together. NOW is the time to join our union and fight for what you deserve ✊🔥 #starbucksbarista #tobeapartner #unionstrong
Starbucks baristas unionizing nationwide have been key in securing significant improvements in workplace policies and benefits. These wins include the introduction of nationwide credit card tipping, expanded parental leave, accelerated PTO accrual, and the visibility of Pride flags in every store’s Siren's Eye. An unprecedented commitment to raising minimum wages nationwide in 2023 has also been a milestone achievement. The union's efforts have further led to increased control over mobile orders, reintroduction of the Coffee Master program, and availability of more inclusive apron sizes, enhancing workers' comfort and dignity. Moreover, partners in unionized stores have gained additional benefits such as pay during temporary store closures, quicker repairs for broken equipment and air conditioning, and resolutions for store-specific health and safety concerns. Important victories also include backpay and reinstatements for partners wrongfully terminated, ensuring fair treatment and job security. These improvements were not granted voluntarily by management but were won through collective bargaining and persistent union action, emphasizing the strength in numbers. The union empowers Starbucks employees to advocate for their rights, better working conditions, and fair compensation, proving that labor solidarity is crucial in driving meaningful change. Current and prospective Starbucks baristas are encouraged to join their union to continue this momentum and secure the benefits and respect they deserve in their workplace.
