Fragrance of the day, Teriaq ✨
I recently purchased the viral Teriaq by Lattafa perfumes. An instant love at first sniff for me. I instantly picked up sweet gourmand and it’s definitely giving off caramel, almonds with honey. It’s compared to La Belle by Jean Paul and I can see why. However, I still notice the difference between the two. Overall, I’m rating this as a 8.5/10. If you love gourmand fragrances, this may be a safe blind buy for you.
Also, I cannot stress this enough, allow your fragrances to macerate (sit) for a little time. Since they are shipped from different areas of the world and go through different climates, this can throw off the true smell of the fragrance.

Since getting my hands on the beautiful Teriaq by Lattafa, I've been completely hooked! This fragrance isn't just a scent; it's an experience, especially for us gourmand lovers. The initial sniff immediately pulls you into a world of decadent caramel and sweet almonds, beautifully balanced with a hint of honey that just melts on your skin. It’s no wonder it’s gone viral! One of the biggest questions I see is, 'Is it a dupe for La Belle by Jean Paul Gaultier?' While I can definitely see why people draw the comparison – they share a similar sweet, captivating vibe – Teriaq truly holds its own. For me, La Belle leans a bit more into pear and vanilla, while Teriaq embraces a deeper, richer caramel and honey blend with a slightly spicier edge from the pink pepper in its top notes. It’s like La Belle’s bolder, more mysterious cousin. If you love the idea of that sweet, warm allure but want something with its own distinct character, Teriaq is absolutely worth exploring. Speaking of enhancing your scent journey, let’s talk about layering! Teriaq is fantastic on its own, but it also layers beautifully. If you want to lean into the sweeter side, try pairing it with a simple vanilla body lotion or a vanilla-dominant fragrance oil. For a more intriguing, deep gourmand, I've found it incredible with a subtle amber or musk perfume, which really brings out the leather and vetiver in its base notes. And for those who are curious about the 'intense' aspect often searched for, layering can help achieve that richer, longer-lasting effect, making your Teriaq even more potent and unique to you. Let’s not forget the stunning presentation! The bottle itself is a work of art, with its amber-liquid glistening inside, crowned by that distinctive gold snake-adorned cap. It feels luxurious in your hand, and the cream box with gold accents hints at the treasure within. This attention to detail is something I truly appreciate about Arabic perfumes like those from Lattafa. They often offer exceptional quality and unique scent profiles that stand out from mainstream offerings, often at a more accessible price point. This makes them a fantastic entry point for anyone curious about Middle Eastern perfumery. And for anyone still on the fence about blind buying, especially for a gourmand, Teriaq is a relatively safe bet if you adore notes like caramel, honey, and a touch of fruit. Remember my crucial tip: always allow your new fragrances to macerate for a little while after receiving them. This resting period, especially after being shipped and exposed to different climates, truly lets the notes settle and bloom, revealing the perfume's intended, beautiful complexity. You might find the initial spray isn't the full picture until it's had time to 'breathe.' Happy sniffing!
