Alternative to Goodnotes!?

Hey girls!!

Just want to help you all study and get good grades🫶🏻😇

I LOVE LOVE LOVVVEEE Noteful. It is so much more user friendly and is just as good as goodnotes with a few differences.

Goodnotes is $9.99 per YEAR.

Noteful is $4.99 for a LIFETIME!!! That is such a good deal. I paid for it immediately.

Goodnotes definitely has an advantage with having the notecards function, however it is somewhat difficult to learn to use everything. As an alternative for the notecards, I just use Quizlet. Quizlet also has different ways of studying them so I prefer that.

My absolute favorite thing about Noteful is the tape. When I don’t feel like making flash cards, I just slap a bunch of tape on my notes and study that way. It also helps me since my notes are pretty and colorful and I can even change the color of the tape and I love that.

It had cloud sync! I use Noteful on my iPad and when I can’t bring my Ipad, I love that I can just pull out my phone and have my notes right there.

My school used Canvas and my teachers post ALOT of PDFs. With Noteful, you can share those PDFs from the Canvas app and straight into the app and write on them, highlight them, do whatever you want and its easier to take notes that way.

I hope this helps some of yall🥳🫶🏻This app has definitely been a life changer for me!

... Read moreAfter years of trying different note-taking apps, I finally settled on Noteful, and honestly, it's been a revelation for my study routine. One of the biggest factors for me was the price – Goodnotes' annual subscription always felt like an unnecessary burden, especially when I knew there had to be more affordable, yet powerful, options out there. Noteful's one-time purchase of $4.99 for a lifetime license was a no-brainer. It was an immediate saving and a huge relief not to worry about recurring fees. Beyond the cost, Noteful has truly impressed me with its user-friendly interface. While Goodnotes can feel a bit cluttered or overwhelming to new users, Noteful felt intuitive from day one. I found it incredibly easy to organize my notes into folders for different classes, just like the image showed with "Anatomy" and "Philosophy" sections. The ability to create custom hashtags for notes also helps me quickly find specific topics later on. The PDF annotation in Noteful is a standout feature for me as a student. My professors frequently upload PDFs to Canvas, and being able to seamlessly import them into Noteful and write directly on them, highlight key passages, and add my own insights has streamlined my digital workflow immensely. It’s perfect for marking up lecture slides or textbooks. Goodnotes also has PDF annotation, but I personally found Noteful's smoother and less prone to lag when dealing with larger files. And let's talk about the 'tape' function – it's brilliant! This feature, which I saw highlighted in one of the images, lets me cover up parts of my notes for active recall. I can tap to reveal answers, making self-testing super efficient without having to create separate flashcards. While Goodnotes has its own notecard system, I prefer Noteful's tape paired with Quizlet for more versatile study modes. The tape is also customizable; I can change its color to match my aesthetic, which is a small but fun detail! Another hidden gem within Noteful, which addresses some of the queries about advanced features, is its layers functionality. This is something I initially missed but quickly grew to appreciate. It allows me to separate different elements on my page – maybe a base layer for a diagram (like the chemistry diagram from the OCR), a second layer for my handwritten notes over it, and a third for annotations or corrections. This keeps my notes incredibly clean and editable, letting me refine my study materials without messing up the original structure. It's a subtle feature but incredibly powerful for complex subjects where organized visuals are key. Finally, the cloud sync across my iPad and iPhone is a lifesaver. I can start reviewing notes on my iPad, then seamlessly pick up where I left off on my phone during a commute. It ensures I always have access to my study materials, anytime, anywhere. With various pen styles, highlighters, and paper templates also available, Noteful truly offers a comprehensive and affordable note-taking experience that, in my opinion, surpasses many of its pricier competitors like Goodnotes for daily student use.
