When I first stepped into Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Hollywood, California, I literally felt like I'd warped into a game! From the moment you walk through the green pipe entrance, you're surrounded by familiar sights and sounds – Goombas waddling, Piranha Plants snapping, and the iconic Super Mario Bros. theme playing. It’s an absolute dream come true for any Nintendo fan and a must-visit for anyone in the Los Angeles area looking for a unique theme park experience. Must-Do Attractions & Interactive Fun For me, the main event was definitely Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge. This isn't just a ride; it's a full-on augmented reality adventure where you're actually racing, steering, and throwing shells to collect coins and defeat Team Bowser! I was so impressed with how seamlessly they blend the physical sets with the AR technology. You absolutely need to try it – it’s unlike any other ride I’ve experienced. Beyond the main ride, the interactive elements are what truly set this land apart. My biggest piece of advice? Get a Power-Up Band right away! I wasn't sure if it was worth it at first, but collecting coins, hitting 'question blocks,' and playing the Key Challenges (like the Goomba Thwomp Panel, Piranha Plant Nap Mishap, or Koopa Troopa POWer Punch) added so much extra fun to my day. Plus, battling Bowser Jr. at the end with your collected keys was super satisfying and a great way to feel like you've really earned your victory. Meet Your Favorite Characters & Themed Treats Meeting Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach was another highlight of my visit. They're incredibly lively and interactive, and getting a photo with them really made me feel like I was part of the Mushroom Kingdom gang. Keep an eye out for Toad, too! And don't even get me started on the food at Toadstool Cafe! I grabbed a Super Mushroom Soup and a Mario Burger – everything is totally themed and surprisingly delicious after all that adventuring to power you up. The 1-UP Factory shop is also dangerous for your wallet; I picked up some adorable souvenirs that I still cherish. My Top Tips for an Amazing Visit to Super Nintendo World To make your trip perfect, here are my top tips: I always recommend arriving at Universal Studios Hollywood right at opening. Super Nintendo World can get incredibly busy, and sometimes they even implement a virtual queue, so head straight there first thing in the morning to try and enter or join the virtual line. Grabbing the Universal Studios app is a must for checking wait times and virtual queue status throughout the day. Wear comfy shoes because you'll be doing a lot of walking and standing, and stay hydrated, especially on sunny California days. If you can swing it, a Universal Express pass can save you a lot of time by letting you bypass the regular lines for most attractions (though it has limited use for Bowser's Challenge). But even without it, with smart planning, you’ll have an amazing time exploring this fantastic Los Angeles Nintendo World!
