Baptists trust in the approval of men!

In my experience engaging in Bible discussions worldwide, I've noticed a recurring theme particularly among some Baptists—putting trust in the approval of men rather than Scripture itself. This reliance often manifests in believers referencing titles, ordinations, or seminary degrees as proof of authority instead of Scripture. Such an approach can undermine the foundation of faith that should rest solely on God's Word. For instance, I recently debated a Baptist minister who proudly stated his ordination and seminary training but struggled to cite specific biblical passages to support his arguments. This highlights a critical issue: accolades and human approval cannot substitute for a deep, personal understanding of the Bible. Reflecting on 2 Timothy, the Apostle Paul warns against placing trust in human credentials instead of divine truth. This scripture serves as a sobering reminder that true spiritual authority comes from faithfully adhering to God's Word rather than relying on human recognition. From my encounters, I encourage every believer, Baptist or otherwise, to immerse themselves in Scripture and develop a personal relationship with the Bible. This practice strengthens one’s faith and equips them to discern truth amidst theological disputes. Trusting God’s Word rather than human accolades fosters a more resilient, authentic Christian life.
