Hey fellow R6 players! If you're looking to elevate your Maestro game, especially on the Border map, you've come to the right place. Maestro is one of my absolute favorite defenders because his Evil Eye cameras are just incredible for intel, plant denial, and even direct damage. After countless hours playing him, I’ve found some setups that consistently give our team the edge, turning potential losses into clutch victories. First off, let's talk about those crucial Evil Eye placements. On Border, the Armory/Archives site is a prime target for attackers, and Maestro shines here. For the 2F Armory Lockers, I always try to place one Evil Eye to get a wide view of the main Armory push. A sneaky spot is often slightly behind the default shield locations, giving it a bit more longevity against quick peeks. Another fantastic spot is overlooking the plant area within Archives itself. This lets you deny any rush defuse strat instantly. Remember, these cameras can see through smoke, which is a massive advantage when attackers pop a smoke grenade for a plant. If you can protect the Evil Eye with a well-placed shield or by reinforcing the wall behind it, you're golden. Moving to other areas, the 2F Offices and Security Room are also hot zones. Placing an Evil Eye on the ceiling or on a table in the office can give you crucial intel on attackers pushing from that side, watching for flankers or a push towards the Vault in CCTV. On the West Balcony exterior, an Evil Eye can pick up early pushes, giving your roamers a heads-up and allowing for aggressive plays. Don't forget that you can deploy your third Evil Eye to cover a crucial rotation or a commonly breached wall, like the one leading into Archives from the outside. Knowing where to make your lines of sight count is key. Beyond just camera placement, Maestro's role in reinforcement and rotations is often overlooked. Your Alda 5.56 LMG is a beast, but your secondary shotgun can be invaluable for creating rotations and opening up lines of sight. I often use it to open up a wall between Armory and Archives, or to create a head-height peek hole on a reinforced wall. Always coordinate with your team on which walls to reinforce; for example, the main external walls into Armory and Archives are usually top priority. By reinforcing these and placing your Evil Eyes to watch for hard breaches and explosives, you make it incredibly difficult for attackers to get their charges off. Finally, always be aware of your Evil Eye's health and remember to reload them if they take damage. You can use them to bait attacker utility, too. If you see an attacker trying to push or plant, a quick burst from your laser can often deny them or force them to reposition, buying precious seconds for your team. Maestro isn't just about passive intel; he's about active denial and controlling the flow of the round. Master these tips, and you'll be racking up those champion ranks in no time!
