Hi! We’re the Schmidt Twins!

It’s truly amazing to see so many of you curious about our journey as the Schmidt Twins, Hannah and Kaitlyn! We often get asked about our unique path, especially as identical twin nurses, and we’re so excited to share more of our story beyond the initial intro. Remember when we mentioned we weren't sure if we were identical or fraternal for the longest time? Calling ourselves 'fradentical' was our playful way of embracing that mystery! Finding out in July 2023 that we are, indeed, identical, was such a fun revelation. It just added another layer to our already incredibly close bond, making our shared experiences, like navigating nursing school together and now working as registered nurses, feel even more special. Wearing those nursing scrubs side-by-side through tough classes and clinicals truly solidified our teamwork and support for each other. Beyond the medical world, our creative outlet, Kahana Collective, is where we pour our love for beautiful things. It all started from our passion for the ocean and the natural elegance of pearls and gemstones. Every delicate pearl necklace or unique gemstone piece we create is handmade with so much thought and care. It’s been an incredible journey balancing our demanding nursing careers with the joy of designing jewelry, but seeing our creations bring smiles to others makes it all worthwhile. We often draw inspiration from our travels, especially our cherished trips to Maui, Hawaii, which fuels both our spirits and our designs. Maui holds such a special place in our hearts. It’s not just about the stunning beaches or the breathtaking sunsets over the Pacific Ocean; it’s the genuine Spirit of Aloha that resonates deeply with us. We love exploring the island’s vibrant culture, from local markets to hidden hiking trails, and immersing ourselves in its natural beauty. Each trip feels like a reset, filling us with energy and new ideas, which often find their way into our jewelry designs or inspire our next adventure. And while we cherish our travels, coming back to our roots in the San Francisco Bay Area, with its iconic bridges and bustling energy, always feels like coming home. Life with a twin means double the fun, especially when it comes to our shared passions! You might have caught a glimpse of our dedication to Halloween couples costumes – we take that very seriously! Brainstorming ideas, crafting props, and seeing the final look come together is one of our favorite yearly traditions. And then there's Christmas! For us, it's more than just a holiday; it's a season of pure magic. We go all out with decorations, festive treats, and creating warm, memorable moments. These traditions really highlight the joy we find in celebrating life's moments, big and small, together.
