WNBA Wednesday Time!!!
WNBA Wednesday time! Season starts in 6 weeks, getting close.
Got my first numbered WNBA card of Indiana Fever Kelsey Mitchell out of 299. Another cool Net Marvels card came in the pack but this one of Wings Aziaha James. A’ja Wilson last years MVP and Caitlin Clark were in there also.
Definitely not a bad pack at all!
As a long-time WNBA card collector, I always look forward to the start of the season to add new, limited-edition cards to my collection. Owning a numbered card like the Indiana Fever’s Kelsey Mitchell, limited to just 299 copies, is especially exciting because it not only represents a piece of basketball history but also feels uniquely personal. The chase for rare cards, including vibrant Marvels inserts, adds an extra layer of fun, especially when the pack yields standout players like Aziaha James from the Wings or reigning MVP A’ja Wilson. One thing I’ve noticed is how the value of these cards can shift quickly depending on player performance throughout the WNBA season. Caitlin Clark, for example, has been making waves, and her cards have become increasingly sought after. Participating in the WNBA community through forums and social media hashtags like #WNBA and #basketballcards helps me stay updated on the latest releases and market trends. For collectors just starting out, I recommend focusing on numbered cards and those that feature game-used memorabilia or autographs, as these tend to hold more value long-term. Packs from Donruss or other reputable brands often contain a good mix, including base cards and special inserts. Pairing this hobby with following the WNBA season countdown—like the six weeks leading to tip-off mentioned here—heightens the anticipation and enjoyment. Overall, collecting WNBA cards is a fantastic way to celebrate women’s basketball, connect with other fans, and potentially discover some valuable gems along the way.
