My dog thinks she’s a cat 🤣🐱
When walking on the windowsill doesn’t work out 🤣 #dog #dogmomsoflemon8 #funny #apartmentdog #puppy
Okay, so you've seen my latest post about my dog thinking she's a cat, right? That windowsill attempt was just classic! But honestly, she does stuff like this all the time, and it makes me wonder, why do some dogs genuinely seem to believe they're felines? I mean, it's not just the climbing; sometimes she'll try to bat at toys like a cat, or even 'knead' her bed before settling down. It’s absolutely hilarious and a little baffling! I’ve been doing some digging (pun intended!) and chatting with other dog parents, and it seems like my pup isn’t alone. Many dogs exhibit these quirky, cat-like behaviors. One common reason is simply observation. If they grow up with cats, they might pick up on certain habits, especially if they see the cats getting attention for them. My girl definitely spent her puppyhood watching our neighbor’s cat rule the roost from the top of the bookshelf! She probably thought, 'Hey, that looks fun!' Another theory is that some of these behaviors just stem from a dog's natural curiosity and comfort-seeking. Cats love high places because they offer a good vantage point and a sense of security. Maybe my dog feels the same when she tries to get up on the sofa back or, in this case, the windowsill. It's not about being a cat, but about finding the coziest, most interesting spot in the house. I've noticed her 'stalking' toys with that low-to-the-ground, cat-like creep, too. And oh, the grooming! She’ll meticulously lick her paws and then rub her face, just like a cat. It’s adorable, but sometimes I have to remind her she’s a dog and needs a proper bath! What are some of the most cat-like things your dog does? I'd love to hear them! These moments are so precious and funny, aren't they? I sometimes wish I had a pet camera like a WYZE cam set up all the time to catch all her hilarious antics. It’s great to capture these unique aspects of their personalities. My little apartment dog keeps life interesting, that’s for sure! While she might not be a cat, she certainly keeps me on my toes with her feline aspirations. It just goes to show how much personality our furry friends have, and how they can surprise us with their unique quirks.
