Looking for peoples opinions on garburators

Looking for peoples opinions on garburators as I have never had one. Currently redoing a kitchen and will need to wire in a switch for it if I want one. Where I live does compost collection which I feel like eliminates some of the 'pros' of a garbage disposal (ie wont be filling up our trash/landfill with food scraps).

Let me know what you think of them!

... Read moreGarbage disposals, also known as garburators, are a topic of debate, especially in places with compost collection. Many homeowners weigh their benefits against their environmental impact. On one hand, a garburator can effectively reduce food waste sent to landfills, helping maintain kitchen cleanliness and convenience. However, in areas with composting services, homeowners often find that these disposals may not be necessary, as food waste can be composted instead. Additionally, garburators require electricity and regular maintenance, raising questions about their overall sustainability. If you're considering installing one during your kitchen renovation, it's essential to evaluate your waste disposal habits. Do you frequently dispose of food scraps? How does your local composting service function? Gathering insights and opinions from others who own a garburator can be invaluable. Their firsthand experiences regarding efficiency, installation, and impact on waste management can guide your decision. Moreover, explore local regulations regarding waste disposal and composting; some areas might have specific guidelines that can influence your choice. Engage with the community and do thorough research to determine if a garburator aligns with your kitchen needs and eco-friendly goals.

I like having my garbage disposal, I use it all the time. I think if you don't used them regularly they can rust out and break down
