Which ones are worth the hype?
I just got back from Epic Universe's soft opening, and as a coaster newbie who hates shoulder restraints, here's my totally unscientific ride breakdown:
Stardust Racers (Celestial Park): 10/10
DUAL TRACK wooden coaster?! Green track > yellow (smoother drops). Back row = way more airtime. Pro tip: Push your back FIRMLY into the seat during drops. No thigh-crushing pain! Queue moved fast (20 mins).
Mine-Cart Madness (Donkey Kong): 6/10
""Family"" ride my ass. Those janky mine cart shakes made me DROP MY PHONE. Cute theming, but 45+ mins queue, nah.
Mario Kart (Bowser's Castle): 7/10
AR visors fogged up, but the Koopa Troopa battle scene is so fun. Wait >60 mins = skip.
Monster Unchained (Dark Universe): 10/10
7-minute DARK RIDE?! Animatronic werewolves made me gasp. Zero scare factor, pure eye candy.
Hiccup's Wing Gliders (Isle of Berk): 10/10
Flying sideways over Berk. Not too intense, perfect length.
Yoshi’s Adventure (3/10) is a glorified photo op. Fyre Drill’s splash zone is hard pass unless you’re 8.
Did ANYONE get on the Ministry of Magic ride? The queue alone had me screaming. Also any hacks for Mario Kart lines?
Universal Orlando's Epic Universe promises thrilling attractions with exciting themes. As a casual theme park fan, experiencing favorites like Stardust Racers was unforgettable, getting a thrilling 10/10 for its smooth drops and quick queue. Conversely, Mine-Cart Madness left a few riders disappointed, despite its charming aesthetic, receiving a lukewarm 6/10. For Mario Kart fans, while fun, the queues may not be worth the wait due to its long duration and frequent visibility issues with AR visors. Additionally, rides like Monster Unchained wowed with a mixture of engaging animatronics but lacked the fright factor some might seek. Don't miss Hiccup's Wing Gliders, which offers a more relaxing experience, perfect for families or those wanting less intensity. However, not every attraction met expectations; Yoshi’s Adventure only served as a photo opportunity, making its 3/10 score warranted. For insider tips, particularly on the Ministry of Magic ride, seek advice from fellow park-goers to maximize your visit. Share your thoughts on your experience and any other park hacks that could enhance the day!
