Quilt As You Go

A Project Linus quilt using Lorelei Harris fabric and other coordinating colors for the pinwheels. There was just a strip of the Lorelei Harris fabric so I added pinwheels to the panels to make it larger. It’s also a quilt as you go project and I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

Quilt As You Go
I finished my first Linus Project Quilt for 2025 Saturday! I used the quilt as you go technique for it & also it’s part of the Walking Foot Quilting Class I’m taking online. The grid lines on the blue cat fabric are from the class. I can only “practice” for so long before I need to use it

I’d like your opinion on what color sashing to use for this baby quilt, the bright orange or the lime green? I like both! This is a quilt as you go project so the sashings will go in between each block and around the outside to add the dark blue border. Currently the blocks measure 24” x 36”,

I was able to trim all my quilted blocks today, I love that pile of quilted trimmed blocks when I get that far. My “design walls” are the beds so I arranged the blocks how I want to sew them together and got started with the sashings. The last two photos are sewing the first vertical sashing.

I’ve gone as far as I can go on this quilt as you go project today. All the vertical & horizontal sashings are done. I used the background fabric for my sashings to see how it would look & I’m happy with it. The next step of the process is borders. I need more fabric for the back side

I’m working on a Quilt With Your Walking Foot class, the next two designs were a diamond pattern & X Marks The Spot. The diamond pattern is harder than I thought it would be and the X pattern is really fun! I’ve had this Racoon fabric for awhile, just 9 squares cut to 10”x10” from our Pro
