Replying to @🩷🌻Tara🌻🩷 Replying to a comment because someone mentioned about their pool leak and honestly… @DEMONICSQWEE and I just went through this 😭💦
I thought I knew exactly where my leak was. I found a small leak, patched it, reinforced it, and was feeling pretty confident… except I was STILL losing water and there was STILL water pooling under nearby legs 😫
That’s when I got really confused.
One day I finally got down on all fours with my head basically next to the bottom of the pool trying to figure out where the water was actually coming from. It was so quiet outside that I could literally HEAR the water coming out 👀
So if you’re as stubborn and determined as I am 😂 my advice is to get down there when it’s quiet and just listen. Sometimes your ears are more helpful than your eyes.
In my case, I eventually found the area and ended up putting Flex Tape on almost blind 😭 I couldn’t really see what I was doing, but I knew if my hand was in the right spot the water would stop gushing out. Somehow it worked 🙌🏻
Pool leaks are the worst because sometimes the water shows up somewhere completely different than where the actual hole is. Don’t give up yet 💙🏊♀️ #pool #swimmingpool #abovegroundpool #poolmaintenance #leak
From my own experience dealing with stubborn pool leaks, I found that patience and close observation are key. Sometimes, leaks aren’t obvious visually because water can travel under the pool liner or structure and pool far from the actual hole. When I first noticed water pooling around the legs of my above ground pool, I initially patched a visible leak, thinking it was the source. But the water loss continued, which was both frustrating and baffling. What helped was getting down low when the surroundings were quiet and relying on my hearing to detect the faint sound of escaping water rather than just my eyes. This approach helped me identify the leak’s precise location along a seam I hadn’t suspected. Although visibility was poor, placing Flex Tape over the area stopped the water flow immediately. If your pool is leaking but you struggle to find the source, don't rely solely on visual signs. Feel around seams carefully where water tends to accumulate or seep. Going low, listening closely, and trusting subtle clues makes a huge difference. Using temporary fixes such as Flex Tape can be surprisingly effective while you plan a more permanent repair. Also, keep in mind that water can pool under the pool frame or legs in places far from the actual hole, so expand your search radius accordingly to avoid misleading water trails. I learned that perseverance and creative problem-solving are vital to successful pool leak maintenance. Hopefully these insights can save you time and headache on your pool repair journey.
