Rainy Days as an artist! 🌧
Never assume the work for a craft show ends just because you've gone home.... because here I am after what feels like a solid day of drying things from my ridiculously soggy show this weekend. it was so misty that everything is just damp... and I certainly can't risk leaving my fabric boxed up in plastic containers like this... so my dryer will be running till I know everything is actually dry and safe.
The fiber artist life can be tedious, y'all!

As a fiber artist, rainy days can present unique challenges, especially during outdoor craft shows. Managing moisture and ensuring your materials maintain their quality is crucial. Here are some strategies to tackle the dampness: 1. **Prepare Ahead:** Consider waterproof storage options for your fabrics and tools to protect them from unexpected rain exposure. 2. **Drying Techniques:** Utilize proper drying techniques such as using dehumidifiers or well-ventilated areas to speed up drying times for damp materials. 3. **Stay Organized:** Keep your workspace tidy and organized. Establish areas where wet and dry materials can be separated to avoid damage. 4. **Embrace the Mood:** Use the rainy atmosphere as inspiration! Create pieces that reflect the mood of the day, blending your experiences with your artwork. 5. **Engage with Fellow Artists:** Share your experiences on forums dedicated to artists, such as #fiberartist or #artistlife, to learn from others facing similar challenges and gather new ideas. Incorporating these practices can enhance your productivity and creativity even on the rainiest days.
