What If You’re Focusing On The Wrong Things?
It’s easy to let our minds become consumed by what’s happening right in front of us.
The next deadline.
The unanswered text.
The bills.
The uncertainty.
The endless stream of news and distractions competing for our attention.
Before long, our peace begins to disappear.
But this verse gently reminds us to lift our eyes higher.
“Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.”
This doesn’t mean ignoring reality.
It means remembering that earthly circumstances don’t have the final word.
When our focus stays fixed only on what is temporary, anxiety grows.
But when we intentionally turn our thoughts toward God—His promises, His goodness, His faithfulness—something begins to change.
Peace returns.
Perspective returns.
Hope returns.
The challenges may still be there, but they no longer sit on the throne of your heart.
Today, take a moment to pause.
Look away from the noise.
Look beyond the worries that demand your attention.
Lift your eyes toward the One who is eternal, unchanging, and fully in control.
The things of this world will come and go.
But God’s presence, His love, and His promises remain forever. 🤍
