... Read moreThe magic of Cici's Pizza in the early 2000s continues to live vividly in my memories. It wasn't just a place to eat; it was an experience, a destination you looked forward to, especially for a casual "let's go to lunch" outing. Walking up to the restaurant, I can still picture the "distinctive logo and signage" that promised a world of unlimited deliciousness inside. From the moment you stepped through the doors, the aroma of freshly baked pizza filled the air, mingling with the excited chatter of families and friends.
Inside, the "warm lighting" and familiar "wall decor" featuring words like "pizza," "salad," "pasta," "dessert," and "fresh" immediately set the scene. My eyes would always dart straight to the buffet line, a glorious expanse of choice. The "glass barrier" separating us from the culinary treasures often bore the iconic slogan: "PIZZABILITIES ARE ENDLESS." And truly, they felt that way. You could grab a slice of classic "cheese and pepperoni," or venture into more adventurous toppings. I loved trying a bit of everything, knowing there was always more coming out of the kitchen.
But Cici's was more than just pizza. I remember loading up my "red plates" not just with various pizza slices, but also with those incredible "golden-brown, cheesy breadsticks." They were perfectly seasoned, soft, and addictive – a must-have alongside any pizza. And for dessert? The thought of those "numerous cinnamon rolls, generously topped with white icing" still makes my mouth water! Sometimes, if I was feeling extra indulgent, I'd even grab a small "brownie" or some of their fruit pizza. The choice was truly overwhelming in the best possible way.
The affordability of Cici's made it a go-to for so many families, including mine. It was the perfect spot for birthday parties, team celebrations, or just a simple, spontaneous family lunch without breaking the bank. The atmosphere was always lively, never stuffy, making everyone feel welcome. We'd grab our "Cici's Pizza branded cups" and settle in, ready to feast and make memories. It wasn't fine dining; it was fun dining, and that's precisely why it holds such a special place in my heart.
Even today, when I hear someone mention Cici's, that rush of early 2000s nostalgia comes flooding back. It sparks conversations about favorite pizzas, the joy of limitless refills, and the simple pleasure of an afternoon spent with loved ones. While some locations might have changed or the menu evolved, the core memory of that unique buffet experience, where "PIZZABILITIES ARE ENDLESS," remains a cherished part of my childhood. It makes me wonder if there are still places that capture that same, unpretentious, delicious charm. For those of us who grew up with it, Cici's Pizza in the 2000s wasn't just a restaurant; it was a slice of our past, a perfect place to say, "Let's go to lunch."
7-12-25 still go to Cici’s pizza in Slidell, Louisiana. Still has the same paint it did in 2007 😂. I absolutely love this place. Never got to go when I was a kid though.
