My point is, in the vast, imaginative world of animation, where characters can have any hair color, length, or texture imaginable, why do we stick to such a limited palette for female characters' hair? Where are the long, flowing locks, the intricate braids, the edgy pixies, the natural curls, or even just a simple, longer cut without bangs? I feel like this prevalence of the bob almost creates a visual shorthand for 'female character' in a way that limits creativity. It's like a default setting. And while some characters, like Velma, own their bob, it would be amazing to see creators push the boundaries a bit more. Imagine how much more personality could be conveyed through diverse hairstyles.
