Sometimes the most meaningful things begin so quietly that we don't realize what they're becoming until much later.
That's been true for me.
Over the last couple of years, I've been writing something called The Haven of Becoming. At first, I thought I was simply writing down what God was teaching me.
Looking back, I realize He was creating a place my own heart would keep returning to.
A place that reminded me to slow down.
To breathe.
To sit with Him again.
As we continue this month together, I'd love to slowly bring you into that story.

In today’s fast-paced world, finding moments of stillness and reflection can be a true challenge. From my personal experience, creating a sacred space in life, much like what The Haven of Becoming represents, is essential for nurturing spiritual growth and emotional well-being. When I first embarked on a similar journey, I didn’t immediately realize how powerful the simple acts of slowing down and breathing deeply could be. These moments of pause have allowed me to reconnect with my inner self and the divine presence that guides me. One practice that truly enhanced my experience was dedicating daily quiet time for meditation and prayer. This quiet time helped cultivate mindfulness and offered a reprieve from daily stressors, fostering a deeper relationship with God. It became a personal sanctuary where I could breathe, reflect, and listen — much like Deon describes in her beautiful narrative. I also found that journaling during these moments helped me capture the insights and lessons that surfaced, turning them into a timeline of personal growth. Over time, this practice transformed into a meaningful ritual akin to The Haven of Becoming — a safe space my heart would always return to for comfort and clarity. Embracing this contemplative lifestyle not only strengthens faith but also cultivates gratitude and peace amidst life’s uncertainties. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most profound journeys start quietly, unfolding gradually as we make space for them within ourselves.
