Shed fat + build muscle w/ this full body workout🏋🏾‍♀️

Read caption👇🏾to learn more about how this full body circuit will tone + strengthen your body🏋🏾‍♀️, slim your waist⏳, shed excess water weight💦, and build a round, juicy🍑‼️

Full body workouts are my favorite, because I’m more focused & engaged in the workout since it covers the entire body🏋🏾‍♀️— meaning it’s not boring like the isolated workout days🥰. Plus it requires plenty of energy🔋 to complete (especially in 1 hour) and gives me more energy than before I started.😁😅

In the words of my former trainer/bald headed cousin (Jr), “You can rest when you get home”… So, I push myself to only take breaks when necessary to further build stamina and endurance.😮‍💨

Plus yall know how quickly the gym can turn into the club🫠, so I try to be in & out within 1 1/2 hrs at the most.

Anytime I use the sled, I always start with this as the first exercise of the circuit being that it’s the most intense. The sled itself weighs about 60lbs

(so it weighed about 150lbs total w/ 2x 45lb weights on each side).

It’s also a great form of cardio,

because it’s a full-body resistance workout

that builds strength + endurance, burns fat,

and improves overall heart health.💫 (Literally, an all-in-one similar to battle ropes.)

My PR for sled pushing is 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣lbs, yet as I get back into the swing of things I’m starting back at 1️⃣5️⃣0️⃣lbs. By the third set (which was recorded), my quads + hammies🦵🏽+ glutes🍑 were burninggggg.🔥

Ropes are perfect for toning your arms + back + shoulders💪🏾, while slimming your waist⏳. Make sure to increase the resistance (or weight of the battle ropes, if possible) to build your strength and further tone your body.🌟

Jumping (plus any form of rebounding)

is a great cardio exercise🫀 and a superstar💫 for stimulating your lymphatic system

(aka your immune system) as it sheds

excess water weight💦 by pushing stagnant fluids + metabolic waste🦠 through your lymphatic system for drainage/removal🚮.

🌟It also tones and strengthens your entire body, from your shoulders down to your ankles.

All of the exercises shown require you to engage your core⚓️ to execute them effectively & maximize your performance.⚡️

If you don’t feel your core engaged in these exercises, then you aren’t doing them properly and will need to adjust your posture + form.

Your core helps to stabilize the body’s balance & coordination, and acts as an anchor⚓️ for your body. Properly engaging your core will protect the lower back, spine, hips, & abs from injuries.⚠️

... Read moreMy journey to shedding fat and building muscle truly transformed when I realized that a killer workout, like my favorite 1-hour full body circuit, is only part of the equation. While the sled pushes, battle ropes, and jumping in my routine are incredible for building strength, burning fat, and improving heart health, I quickly learned that what I do outside the gym is just as crucial. If you're really looking to maximize your results from a challenging workout with 3 sets of 6 exercises, you have to pay attention to your sleep, hydration, and diet. First, let's talk about hydration. For years, I underestimated how much water truly impacts my energy levels and ability to shed fat. I used to think I was drinking enough, but once I started tracking it, I realized I was often dehydrated, especially after intense cardio or a full body workout that makes you sweat! Staying properly hydrated helps your body flush out toxins, keeps your metabolism running efficiently, and, as I mentioned in my original post, even aids in shedding excess water weight by supporting your lymphatic system. I aim for at least 8-10 glasses a day, sometimes more if I’m having a particularly intense session working my core with vertical knee raises or doing lots of box jumps. I've found that adding a squeeze of lemon or cucumber to my water makes it more enjoyable and helps me reach my goals. It’s a simple change, but it makes a huge difference in my recovery and overall feeling of wellness after my 1-hour workout. Next up is nutrition, or what I like to call 'fueling my body's engine.' You simply can't expect your body to perform at its best during a demanding full body workout, especially with moves like pushing a heavy sled or intensely using ropes, if you're not giving it the right nutrients. I used to focus too much on just cutting calories, but now I prioritize eating smart for muscle building and fat loss. Proteins are essential for muscle repair and growth after those tough 3 sets of 6 exercises. I make sure to include lean protein sources like chicken, fish, or plant-based options in every meal. Complex carbohydrates, like sweet potatoes and brown rice, provide sustained energy for my 1-hour workout, keeping me strong through every push and pull. And healthy fats are crucial for hormone balance and satiety. I try to eat balanced meals throughout the day, ensuring I'm properly fueled before hitting the gym and giving my body what it needs to recover and build after I've pushed my strength to the limit. Finally, sleep – oh, how I used to neglect this vital component! In my quest to do it all, sleep was often the first thing I'd sacrifice. But after countless days of feeling sluggish during my workouts and not seeing the progress I wanted in shedding fat, I realized quality sleep is non-negotiable. When you're consistently challenging your body with intense movements, whether it's the full body resistance in a sled push or the powerful engagement required for jumping exercises, your muscles need time to repair and rebuild. It's during deep sleep that your body releases growth hormones, crucial for muscle recovery and fat metabolism. Poor sleep can also mess with hunger hormones, making it harder to stick to a healthy diet. Now, I prioritize getting 7-8 hours of quality sleep every night. I try to go to bed and wake up around the same time, even on weekends, and create a relaxing bedtime routine to wind down. This commitment to sleep has significantly boosted my energy for my 1-hour full body workouts and accelerated my results in building muscle and shedding fat. Remember, your body works hard for you; give it the rest it deserves!
