I joined a (virtual) bookclub!

Well, I’ve been a member for almost a year but I’ve been bad about posting 😅. It’s BWRT (black women read too) Bookclub and this was one of the greatest decisions I’ve made. The community is amazing and is deeper than just reading books. A true sisterhood with beautiful women living all over the world. Also, here’s a glimpse of what was inside the Best Box I purchased for the month of June.

This month we are reading The Exes by Brandon Massey.

Building on my recent post about joining the incredible BWRT Book Club, I wanted to share a bit more about why it's been such a game-changer for me, and for anyone else curious about finding their own virtual reading haven. You know how hard it can be to find a group that truly gets you, especially when you're looking for diverse voices and a genuine sense of community. I was on the hunt for a while, and BWRT really hit the mark. If you’re asking 'where can I discover virtual clubs focused on diverse voices?' – you're in the right place! My first tip is to check out social media platforms like Instagram or even specific book-focused apps. Search for hashtags like #virtualbookclub, #diversebooks, #blackgirlmagicreads, or even specific club names if you've heard of them. Many clubs, like BWRT, have dedicated pages where they post their monthly reads and open enrollment periods. Don't be afraid to send a DM or check their website for joining info! It's all about finding that 'bestie book club' vibe, where everyone feels safe, seen, and supported. What makes BWRT so special, beyond the amazing discussions, is the true sisterhood. It’s more than just talking about books; it’s about sharing experiences, supporting each other, and making connections worldwide. The types of books we read are always thoughtfully chosen, often featuring narratives and perspectives that truly resonate and spark deep conversations. From empowering fiction to insightful non-fiction, each selection opens up new worlds and encourages personal growth, which is exactly what I was hoping for when looking for diverse reading options. And let’s talk about the 'Bestie Box'! Each month, getting that pink box labeled 'BLACK WOMEN READ TOO Book Club Bestie Box' feels like a mini celebration. It's packed with thoughtful items that enhance the reading experience – like comfy pink socks for cozying up with my Kindle, a cute little white fan for those warm beach reads, and often other goodies along with the featured books. For example, my box recently included fun titles like 'Do What Godmother Says' and 'Destined Coincidence', which are fantastic discoveries I might not have picked up otherwise. It really encourages you to carve out that dedicated reading time, whether it's by the ocean or just a quiet corner at home. The 'thank you' card from the club always adds such a personal touch, making you feel truly valued as a 'Dearest Reader'. It’s these little details that transform a simple book club into a vibrant, supportive community. So, if you're looking for more than just a reading group – a place where discussions go deeper and friendships blossom – I highly recommend exploring a virtual community like BWRT. It's truly a gem for connecting with like-minded individuals and enriching your reading life!
