My NYC apartment tour

Out of all my NYC apartments, this one is definitely my fave! In my previous apartments I didn’t get the chance to truly decorate a living space that was all my own and I’m so excited I get to do that with this apartment! I love how it’s turned out so far - I think my favorite part so far is how cozy and fluffy my bed is. My next project is adding more art!

... Read moreIt's true what they say about NYC apartments – they can be a challenge! For so long, I felt like I was just living in a temporary space, hesitant to truly invest in making it my own. But this time, with my current apartment, something just clicked. I realized that even in a rental, you can create a sanctuary that reflects your personality. When you embark on your own NYC apartment tour journey, remember that it's all about making smart choices to maximize your living spaces photos worthy potential. One of the biggest lessons I've learned is to embrace multifunctionality. In small NYC living spaces, every inch counts! My coffee table, for instance, has hidden storage, perfect for stashing away remotes and magazines, keeping the main surface clutter-free. I also love using vertical space – floating shelves are a game-changer for displaying books and small decor without taking up precious floor space. Don't underestimate the power of mirrors either; strategically placed, they can make a room feel so much larger and brighter, which is key in many naturally darker NYC apartments. When it came to making my bed so incredibly fluffy and inviting, it was all about layering! I invested in a good quality mattress topper, which instantly transformed the comfort level. Then, it's about a soft duvet, plenty of plush pillows (I mix different sizes and textures for that hotel-bed feel!), and a cozy throw blanket at the foot of the bed. It makes such a difference after a long day exploring the city to come back to a truly comfortable haven. This little corner is my absolute favorite, and it truly helps create that desired cozy vibe in a bustling city. My next big project is adding more art! I'm constantly on the hunt for pieces that speak to me, but also fit the scale of my apartment. I've found some amazing local artists at weekend markets, and I'm also a big fan of Etsy for unique, affordable prints. Grouping smaller pieces into a gallery wall can be a fantastic way to add personality without overwhelming a small wall. Plus, it allows you to easily swap out pieces as your taste evolves. For anyone looking to personalize their living spaces, art is such a powerful tool. It’s not just about filling walls; it’s about telling your story. Making an apartment feel like home, especially in a city like New York, is a process, not a destination. It's about finding pieces you love, experimenting with layouts, and creating little pockets of comfort. My biggest advice? Don't be afraid to try new things and let your personality shine through in your decor. Every "before and after" is a testament to making a space truly your own. I hope this glimpse into my favorite NYC apartment tour gives you some inspiration for your own cozy corner!

I’ve always seen my parents and grandparents reuse items and live low-waste — way before social media made it trendy. They didn’t have to compare their kitchens to those aesthetic Pinterest-perfect spaces. Luckily, I picked up those habits and learned how to reuse things too. I’d be lying if I s

NYC Apartment Blows Open
A looming disaster was narrowly avoided in the Bronx today. A 20-story tall chimney connected to a NYCHA apartment block exploded and collapsed, tearing a massive gash down the building’s side. Bricks rained onto sidewalks and a nearby playground, and a cloud of dust blanketed the block. Miraculou
