Debt free Journey 🌸
Here we go again another debt hole. From $2k to $12.298.69. #debt #debtfreejourney
It’s going to be a long journey, but I’m ready. No more ignoring it. No more excuses.
Starting this month, I’m paying these bad boys off one by one. First I will pay PayPal.
Let’s do this.
Starting on a debt-free journey can feel overwhelming at first, especially when your total debt climbs to over $12,000, as I faced recently. What’s helped me stay focused is breaking down the amounts owed by each creditor and budgeting each paycheck with purpose. For example, I list out my obligations: car payment, car insurance, credit cards (like Discover, Capital One), PayPal balances, and smaller monthly expenses such as Victoria’s Secret charges. Adding everyday necessities such as gas and groceries into the budget ensures nothing is overlooked. My biggest challenge has been balancing paying off debts while covering essential living costs like rent, which takes a large portion of my second paycheck. To make progress, I prioritize the debts with the highest interest rates first to reduce the amount that accumulates over time, commonly known as the snowball or avalanche method. Tracking leftover funds after these payments helps me adjust how much extra I can put toward debt each month. One thing I’ve learned through this process is the importance of discipline and transparency with myself about my spending habits. No more ignoring the problem or making excuses—it’s about facing it head-on. Also, keeping a record of debt payments with dates and amounts provides motivation when I see balances decreasing gradually. If you’re on a similar journey, consider creating a detailed monthly plan listing all debts, due dates, and minimum payments. Include necessary living expenses and set realistic goals about how much extra you can pay toward debts. Celebrate small wins when you pay off a credit card or reduce your overall balance, as these positive reinforcements keep you motivated. Remember, paying off $12,000 in debt won’t happen overnight. It requires patience, planning, and persistence. But with a consistent approach, it’s absolutely achievable. I’m ready to tackle this debt step by step and will share what works and what doesn’t along the way. Staying committed to this journey changes more than your bank balance; it builds financial confidence and frees you from monthly stress.

Good luck!
