Cartagena ➡️ Medellín 🇨🇴✈️ Day 4 of our 10 days in Colombia!
Travel days can still be part of the experience 💅 We squeezed in a workout, checked out the Heroica Lounge at the Cartagena airport, then caught a quick flight to Medellín before checking into our hotel in El Poblado.
✈️ SAVE this for your trip: if you’re taking an Uber from the Medellín airport, we crossed the street, headed to the 2nd floor & met our driver by the red statue 📍 Made finding each other SO much easier!
We ended the night exploring El Poblado + trying one of our favorite bandeja paisas of the trip 🤤

Traveling within Colombia can be a unique experience, especially when transitioning between vibrant cities like Cartagena and Medellín. On Day 4 of a 10-day itinerary, incorporating both practical tips and cultural experiences can truly enhance your journey. One practical tip I found invaluable when arriving at Medellín’s José María Córdova International Airport was where to meet my Uber driver. Instead of waiting outside or struggling with communication, crossing to the second floor and meeting by the distinctive red statue made the process efficient and stress-free. This small strategy saved me time and avoided the usual airport pickup confusion, a tip I highly recommend to any traveler. When it comes to downtime or making the most out of travel days, squeezing in activities can add a refreshing balance to your trip. For instance, fitting in a workout session before your flight can boost energy levels and keep you feeling fresh upon arrival. It’s a great way to maintain your routine and prepare for exploring new surroundings. Upon arriving in Medellín, staying in El Poblado offers a fantastic base, known for its vibrant nightlife, boutique hotels, and delicious local cuisine. Sampling bandeja paisa, Colombia’s iconic hearty dish featuring beans, rice, plantain, chicharrón, and more, was one of the highlights of my evening. It’s a must-try for visitors and provides a true taste of Colombian culture and hospitality. Lastly, exploring neighborhood highlights after check-in allows for genuine local experiences. Strolling through El Poblado’s lively streets at night gives you a feel for the city’s charm and vibrancy. Incorporating these tips can transform a simple travel day into a memorable part of your Colombian itinerary, making your trip both smooth and culturally enriching.
