วัดเขากะโหลกเป็นสถานที่ที่ผมชอบไปเยือนบ่อยๆ เพราะนอกจากจะได้สักการะสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์เช่นหลวงพ่อหว่าง อุตตโม และรูปเคารพกรมหลวงชุมพรเขตอุดมศักดิ์แล้ว วัดนี้ยังมีบรรยากาศที่สงบร่มรื่น เหมาะกับการพักผ่อนใจอย่างแท้จริง จุดเด่นที่ผมประทับใจมากคือวิหารสีทองที่ตั้งตระหง่านอยู่ท่ามกลางภูเขาและทะเล ซึ่งให้ภาพมุมกว้างสวยงามมาก เหมาะสำหรับผู้ที่ชอบถ่ายภาพภูมิทัศน์ หรือนักท่องเที่ยวสายมูเตลูที่ต้องการขอพรเพื่อความก้าวหน้าในชีวิต การงาน หรือแม้แต่ความสำเร็จในธุรกิจตามความเชื่อปากต่อปากของชาวบ้าน เวลาที่ผมมักจะเลือกไปเยือนคือช่วงเช้าหรือเย็น เพราะอากาศไม่ร้อนและแสงแดดนุ่มนวล เหมาะแก่การถ่ายภาพ ส่วนการขึ้นไปยังจุดชมวิวบนเขา ผมแนะนำให้ใส่รองเท้าสบาย ๆ และเดินอย่างระมัดระวัง เพราะทางอาจลื่นเล็กน้อย นอกจากนี้ วัดยังอยู่ใกล้กับหาดเขากะโหลกที่สามารถเดินไปเที่ยวต่อได้ในระยะไม่กี่ร้อยเมตร ช่วยให้การเดินทางของผมคุ้มค่าและได้สัมผัสทั้งความเงียบสงบของวัดและชายหาดที่สวยงามไปพร้อม ๆ กัน สำหรับใครที่มีความศรัทธาหรือกำลังมองหาสถานที่พักใจ พร้อมชมธรรมชาติในจังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ ผมคิดว่าวัดเขากะโหลกเป็นตัวเลือกที่ดีที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งเลยทีเดียว
