Experience in the pump
Stopping at a gas station is common in many people's daily lives, sometimes just a stop on the way, but sometimes it becomes an event that requires us to get sober, like the one I experienced on the day of refueling at the Lavoo Shell Pump, Lop Buri Province.
After parking, I was about to walk to the cafe in the pump, and the atmosphere was fine until a red Suzuki Swift came in at speed, heading straight to the area in front of the bathroom, where people were constantly passing by.
The car drove so close to me that it had to stop and go backwards to hide, and the area was supposed to be a decelerating and cautious area, but the horn was squeezed on me as if I were an obstructionist, even though I was walking in a normal pedestrian area.
When the car was parked, I thought there would be at least a small apology or responsibility, but there was not a single word. This incident made me reflect that the etiquette of the road and respect for the common ground is really important, not just the law, but the safety and mutual respect.
This small incident at a gas station became a lesson that reminds us that no matter how rushed we are, driving with caution and kindness towards others is something not to be overlooked, because carelessness for a second can cause harm to people who know nothing.
การแวะพักที่ปั๊มน้ำมันนอกจากจะเป็นช่วงเติมพลังให้รถแล้ว ยังเป็นโอกาสให้เราได้พิจารณาถึงพฤติกรรมและมารยาทต่างๆ ที่ควรมีในพื้นที่สาธารณะอย่างปั๊มน้ำมันด้วย จากประสบการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นที่ปั๊มเชลล์ละโว้ จังหวัดลพบุรี ผมได้ตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการขับขี่อย่างระมัดระวัง โดยเฉพาะในสถานที่ที่มีคนเดินผ่านและพื้นที่ส่วนรวมที่จำเป็นต้องให้ความสำคัญกับความปลอดภัยมากกว่าความเร็วหรือความสะดวกสบายของตัวเองเพียงอย่างเดียว ด้วยความที่ปั๊มน้ำมันเป็นจุดที่คนใช้บริการหลากหลาย ทั้งคนเดิน ไปจนถึงรถยนต์และรถจักรยานยนต์ การมีน้ำใจและมารยาท ถือเป็นปัจจัยสำคัญในการป้องกันอุบัติเหตุที่อาจเกิดขึ้นโดยไม่คาดฝัน เหตุการณ์ที่เจอรถซูซูกิ สวิฟต์ สีแดงขับด้วยความเร็วและบีบแตรใส่ผู้เดิน ถือเป็นตัวอย่างที่ชัดเจนว่าความไม่ระมัดระวังและขาดความเคารพกัน อาจนำมาซึ่งความเครียดและอันตรายได้ทันที จากเรื่องนี้ ผมขอแนะนำให้ผู้ขับขี่ทุกคนจงระลึกเสมอว่าปั๊มน้ำมันไม่ใช่แค่สถานที่เติมน้ำมันเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นพื้นที่ที่ต้องแบ่งปันกับผู้อื่น ทั้งนักเดินทางและพนักงานบริการ จึงควรขับช้าๆ ให้ความระมัดระวัง และให้ความสำคัญกับการเคารพพื้นที่คนเดิน เพื่อทุกคนจะได้ผ่านช่วงพักนี้ไปอย่างปลอดภัย นอกจากนี้ ผู้บริโภคยังสามารถมีส่วนร่วมได้โดยการพูดคุยสร้างสังคมที่มีความเข้าใจในมารยาทการใช้พื้นที่สาธารณะ เพื่อช่วยกันลดความเสี่ยงและเพิ่มความสุขในการเดินทางให้กับหลายคน เหตุการณ์เล็กๆ ที่ปั๊มเชลล์ละโว้จึงกลายเป็นบทเรียนที่ผมคิดว่าน่าจะเป็นประโยชน์กับคนไทยทุกคน ไม่ใช่แค่เรื่องกฎหมาย หากแต่คือเรื่องของความเคารพและความเมตตาระหว่างกันในสังคมที่เราอยู่
