Why I’m in Therapy and Why It’s Okay for You, Too
Why I’m in Therapy (and Why It’s Okay for You, Too)
I used to think therapy was only for people who were really struggling, but I’ve learned it’s for anyone who wants to grow, heal, and live more fully. I’m in therapy because I want to set healthy boundaries, learn how to regulate my emotions, and become a better parent. I’m working on stopping stress eating, being more vulnerable, and building my confidence. Therapy is helping me decide my next career step, forgive people in my life, and give my husband a break from being my only support.
Some days, it’s hard to admit I can’t carry everything on my own. But I’ve realized that asking for help isn’t weakness—it’s courage. Therapy gives me a safe space to talk, process, and learn new ways to care for myself and those I love.
If you’re thinking about therapy, know that it’s okay. You don’t have to bear your whole mental load alone. It’s okay to need help. It’s okay to want to grow. And it’s okay to take care of your mind, just like you would your body.
You’re not alone. 💚
