A PEAK AT HIS FIRST HAIRCUT

We did a first today! While we were hoping to hold off till 2 years, 21 months works just fine 😊 and he did SO GOOD! For a little guy who likes to call the shots and fuss when someone else in in control, he really took it all in and sat so well for her! (Until we had to straddle dad, then it was time for GoDanny!)

While some children may look forward to this new experience, others may feel anxious or fearful. Consider talking about the haircut in positive terms, focusing on the fun aspects, such as the chance to sit in a special chair, or the cool tools that will be used. It’s helpful to choose a child-friendly salon or barber that specializes in cutting toddlers' hair. Many places have colorful decor, toys, and even cartoons playing to distract and entertain the kids during their haircut. Bringing along a favorite toy or a special snack can also help soothe any fears. You might also want to prepare for some silly moments, as kids sometimes wiggle or talk through the process, adding a fun element to the memory. Capturing the moment with photos or videos can provide lasting mementos of this significant milestone in early childhood. After the haircut, many parents find it rewarding to celebrate the event with a special treat or a fun outing, marking it as a memorable celebration of growing up. Overall, making the first haircut a joyful experience can set a positive tone for future haircuts and encourage children to embrace changes. Enjoy this exciting journey as your little one takes another step in their growth!
