Cliff battle

Battling Team GO Rocket Leaders in Pokémon GO, especially someone as tough as Cliff, can be a real challenge, but it's also incredibly rewarding! I recently had an epic showdown with Leader Cliff, and I wanted to share my personal strategy and the Pokémon I used to secure that win. Many of you are probably wondering "what to use against Leader Cliff," and I totally get it – his team can be unpredictable. First off, understanding Cliff's potential lineup is key. While it rotates, he often starts with a powerful Pokémon like Aerodactyl, Grimer (Alolan), or Stantler. Then he brings out a tough second and third, which could include the likes of Cradily, Gallade, Tyranitar, or Electivire. The trick is to have a diverse team that can hit his most common Pokémon with SUPER EFFECTIVE damage. For my battle, I went with a strong lineup. I started with my Eternatus, which is a fantastic choice for its sheer power and ability to dish out damage quickly. Against Cliff's first Pokémon, I focused on fast attacks to burn through his shields as quickly as possible. This is a crucial strategy in any Team GO Rocket battle – get those shields down early! My second choice was Annihilape. Its Fighting/Ghost typing gives it excellent coverage against many of Cliff's potential second-stage Pokémon, especially if he brings out something like a Tyranitar or a Gallade. Annihilape's charged attacks can hit hard, and I made sure to use them as soon as they were ready, aiming for that 'EXCELLENT!' throw for maximum damage. Using a Protect Shield strategically is also vital; save them for when you know a powerful charged attack is coming your way. Finally, for my anchor, I brought in Machamp. This classic Fighting-type is a reliable powerhouse against anything weak to Fighting, which often includes some of Cliff's tougher Pokémon. Machamp's Dynamic Punch or Cross Chop can deal massive damage. Having a well-powered Machamp in your arsenal is almost always a good idea for these battles. After a grueling fight where I used my Pokémon's Dynamax Cannon and Behemoth Blade, I finally defeated Leader Cliff! The thrill of seeing him defeated was immense. And of course, the reward was a chance to catch a Shadow Larvitar, which was super exciting! When it came to catching, I used a Golden Razz Berry to increase my chances and focused on hitting those 'NICE!' or 'GREAT!' throws. I ended up getting a 'FIRST CATCH OF THE DAY' bonus too, which was a nice extra. Once you catch your Shadow Pokémon, you'll face the dilemma: Purify or keep it Shadow? Shadow Pokémon deal 20% more damage but also take 20% more damage. Purifying makes them stronger overall, reduces Stardust and Candy costs for Power Up, and changes their move. For my Larvitar, I'm still debating whether to Purify it or keep it Shadow for that extra attack power to eventually Evolve into a powerful Tyranitar. It’s all about checking its Attack, Defense, and HP stats on the Catch Card and deciding what best fits my Pokedex and Trainer Battles strategy. Don't forget to stock up on Razz Berries, Nanab Berries, and Pinap Berries before your next encounter with Team GO Rocket!
