Think about what truly brings you joy and purpose outside of your job. Is it writing, painting, starting a small business, or learning a new skill? Another crucial step is financial planning. Building an emergency fund can significantly reduce the perceived risk of making a change. Knowing you have six months of expenses saved can be a huge psychological relief. It gives you room to breathe and explore alternatives without the immediate pressure of an empty bank account. Finally, challenge the societal narrative. Does buying that bigger house or the latest car truly align with the life you want to live, or is it just another way to deepen the golden handcuffs? It’s about being intentional with your choices and consciously choosing the life that you want, rather than passively letting circumstances dictate it. Don't settle for 'just enough' when your heart yearns for so much more. Your dreams are worth fighting for, and it's never too late to start taking steps, however small, to reclaim them.
