Strawberry Picking on a Tuesday!!
I absolutely LOVE homeschooling my children. One of the biggest perks is majority children being in public school and is getting a lot of exclusivity when we go places and really get our moneys worth.
We headed to the Farm around noon and arrived shortly before 1PM! When we arrived we headed into the open farmers market and looked around and was greeted by a cheerful young lady who told us all there was to do! It was loads to do to keep us busy. Tractor ride, barrels rides, pony rides and more!
The first thing we did was took a family tractor ride around the entire farm which was about $5 pp and it was fun bc we had the entire cart to ourselves that held at least 20 people 😆 the tractor ride was longer than I expected so it was definitely worth it.
After our tractor ride we went to pick strawberries. Each kid had their own bucket. My husband gave instruction on how to pick the berries and away we went! They went up 3 rows and we were done.
Strawberries cost per pound so 4 buckets, 2 sodas and a water was $20
after that we played at the park on the farm and visited with the animals and for $50 our family had a great outing. #Virginia #Chesapeake #Homeschool

Strawberry picking is not just a fun activity; it’s an experience that builds family bonds and teaches kids about nature. Virginia offers numerous farms that welcome families for strawberry picking, often providing various activities such as tractor rides, petting zoos, and farmers markets. Be sure to call ahead to confirm availability of strawberries and any special events. When planning your visit, go early in the day to avoid crowds and ensure you have the freshest strawberries. Dress comfortably and wear sunscreen, especially if you’re visiting during warmer months. Bringing your own buckets or purchasing them at the farm can also help save costs. Picking strawberries allows children to learn about agriculture, the importance of local produce, and the joy of harvesting their food. After picking, consider exploring nearby attractions or enjoying a picnic at the farm. Many farms have picnic areas where you can savor your strawberries and other snacks. Be sure to capture those special moments to create lasting memories. Overall, strawberry picking provides a unique opportunity to involve your kids in hands-on learning while enjoying the beauty of nature.
