Sometimes we have to take it back old school. I’ve been on my GLP 1 journey for over 3 years and i will say my hair suffered a lot. No one talks about the side effects such as hair shedding!! It does eventually get better. I started with ozempic but that tore my hair up and when i switched to Mounjaro it was soo much better. The hair stop shedding a lot but it still shed. Once I started the 15 MG my hair has been shedding sooooo bad!

And i was like i have to try something different but also not new and sometimes just bringing it back old school is the best way.

Having experienced hair shedding during my GLP-1 journey, I found that incorporating traditional hair care products really made a difference. Products like The Ordinary’s Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density and leave-in treatments enriched with olive oil, avocado oil, and silk protein helped restore moisture and strengthen my hair, reducing breakage significantly. From personal experience, it’s important to use deep conditioners and hair treatments aimed at rebuilding hair fibers affected by medication side effects. Applying conditioners that focus on ultimate strengthening and reconstruction encourages healthier growth and improves the hair’s natural luster. I also found that consistency in using these products was key; skipping treatments often led to increased shedding. Beyond products, gentle hair care practices—such as avoiding harsh chemicals, limiting heat styling, and using a wide-tooth comb—prevent further damage. Scalp massages with nourishing oils can stimulate blood flow, supporting hair follicles. Remember, hair shedding linked to GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Mounjaro is often temporary. Ill effects tend to diminish over time when treatments and care routines are effectively combined. Sharing experiences within haircare forums and communities also provides emotional support and firsthand tips, making the journey less isolating and more manageable.
