Replying to @Shanteria Stokes Here’s my first and second attempt of learning this dance after not doing auxiliary in the band since 2012. (So be nice)
Like my bones cracked a few times but this was really fun! Should I learn the whole dance and do it FULL OUT? 🤭🔥👯♀️💃🏾
Getting back into dancing after a long hiatus can be both exciting and challenging. I haven't participated in auxiliary performances since 2012, so attempting this dance again brought a range of emotions—from cracking bones to pure enjoyment. It reminded me how important it is to listen to your body and take breaks when needed. One thing I noticed was how muscle memory helped me pick up steps faster than I expected, proving that past practice does leave a lasting impression. Dancing full out can be intimidating, especially after a break, but it's incredibly rewarding. Pushing yourself to learn the complete routine not only improves physical fitness but also boosts confidence and mood—as many dancers experience after a great workout. The energy and rhythm help relieve stress and bring a sense of accomplishment. Plus, sharing this journey with supportive friends, like @Shanteria Stokes, adds motivation and makes the process more enjoyable. If you're considering picking up dancing again or trying a new routine, my advice is to start slow, be patient with yourself, and celebrate small victories along the way. Each attempt brings progress, and eventually, doing the full dance full out becomes a thrilling and empowering experience. So why not embrace the challenge and enjoy the rhythm—your body and mind will thank you!
