I think this is probably my worst habit: once I’ve finished a piece, I start noticing something about it and feel compelled to go back and fix it.
More often than not, that ends up with me tearing the whole thing apart. In the worst cases, I even start rewriting the lyrics or song itself, or the main body of the text, like an audiobook manuscript, and then it becomes completely unmanageable.
In fact, there were two times in my life when I impulsively deleted entire blogs that I had cherished and kept going for a long time.
They were called A Nightscape Critic of Akasaka-Mitsuke and Locabona Biyori.
I doubt anyone reading this will know them, but I regret losing them very much.

創作活動と日常の一部である朝ごはん作りが交差するとき、私はいつも完璧主義との戦いに直面します。例えば、一度記事を書き終えた後でも細かな表現が気になり、何度も書き直そうとしてしまうのです。これは多くのクリエイターに共通する悩みかもしれません。 かつて私は長く続けてきたブログを2回も衝動的に消してしまったことがあります。『A Nightscape Critic of Akasaka-Mitsuke』や『Locabona Biyori』といったブログは、自分にとってかけがえのないものでした。しかし、その時の完璧を求める焦りから、全てを壊してしまいました。この経験は「こぼれた水は盆に戻らぬ」という日本のことわざのように、二度と取り戻せないもののはかなさを教えてくれました。 朝ごはんを作る過程も似ています。例えば、シンプルな卵料理一つでも、味付けや火加減が少し違うだけで満足できなくなり、何度も手を入れてしまうことがあります。時には、その行為自体が食事の楽しみを奪ってしまうことも。だからこそ、創作も日常も「ほどほど」のバランスが大切だと実感しています。 私の経験から言えるのは、完璧主義は創作の原動力となる一方で、それに囚われ過ぎると新しい発想や心の余裕が失われるということです。創作の仕上げは妥協ではなく、一定のラインで手を止める勇気も必要だと思います。 この投稿を通じて、同じような悩みを持つ方々に「自分らしい創作のかたち」を見つけるヒントになれば嬉しいです。完璧を求めすぎず、小さな日々の積み重ねを楽しみながら、毎朝の朝ごはん作りを通して自分と向き合う時間を大切にしてください。
