My Go-to Makeup Routine 💄

All the the products I use aren’t in the slideshow so be sure to keep on reading!

Step 1: Prime

- I use the Milk Pore Eclipse Primer. This feels like skincare going on, but it balances and makes my makeup look so smooth without drying me out! Will be the only primer I will use, unless if I have to pair with my ELF Power Grip for formal events.

Step 2: Base

- I also have the TLB Just a Tint (Almond Joy) tinted moisturizer pictured in the background but I use it mostly during the warmer months, as it matches the color of my face best during that time of year. My go-to right now is the Danessa Myricks Universal Blurring Balm in Shade 9. This stufffffff….🥹👏🏾!!! It makes my face look clear without looking like makeup. Totally worth the purchase, RUN 🏃🏾‍♀️

Step 3: Conceal

- I can’t stop reaching for the NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop concealers. I think this might be the only concealer I use going forward. It is perfect for that full beat and also for a more natural look during the workweek. It’s buildable and affordable with a pretty good shade range so I have 4 of these for various purposes.

Step 4: Powder

- I love using the One/Size Loose Powder in Deep. It is so smoothing and lasts all day! It is a powder that is such a staple in my collection and blends in seamlessly with my skin tone!

Step 5: Brows

- I usually use the ABH Brow Freeze, and it just helps make my brow hairs behave. I don’t use this every day, as sometimes I just use a spoolie to brush my brows. For the days I simply just want my brows to look neat and sleek, I’ll use this!

Step 6: Blush and Bronzer

- I use so many blushes and bronzers for that multi-dimensional look, but for the everyday work glam, I use the lighter shade in Juvia’s Place bronzer duo to warm up the face a bit. I also LOVE the Rare Beauty blushes as a foundation for my powder blush. I love using the shade Love for every day, but for more formal occasions I’ll use both Love and Grateful for a bolder blush. This stuff is the ONLY liquid blush I’ll be using from now on, it is so pigmented and lasts all day! On top, I’ll use the Pat McGrath blush in Paradise glow to set the liquid blush underneath and add more color to the face!

Step 7: Finishing touches

- Okay, last one y’all 😮‍💨. For everyday glams, I only use the viral Charlotte Tillbury setting spray. I don’t use the One/Size On Till Dawn spray everyday, as I don’t desire that full coverage beat for work. The CT spray provides a refreshing glow that makes my makeup lasts all day! I have the jumbo size that is $50. On my lips, I use my Jack Black lip balm, a NYX lipliner in the color Downtown Beauty which is basically my natural lip color, and then I just top it off with my Dior Lip Oil in clear.

Hope this was informative, and let me know if you try any of these products!

... Read moreIt’s amazing how the right products can elevate your makeup routine to achieve that sought-after 'aesthetic' look. For me, an aesthetic makeup routine is all about creating a polished, harmonious, and often natural-looking finish that enhances my features without feeling heavy. The products I’ve chosen are specifically for their ability to deliver on this promise, ensuring a flawless canvas and lasting beauty. Let’s dive deeper into how these gems contribute to that overall aesthetic. Starting with the base, a primer like Milk Pore Eclipse is a game-changer. It doesn’t just make makeup last; it creates a smooth, velvety canvas by balancing the skin. This is crucial because an aesthetic look often begins with healthy-looking skin, preventing makeup from settling into pores or looking patchy. Paired with a base product like Danessa Myricks Universal Blurring Balm, you get that incredible 'clear without looking like makeup' effect. This balm truly lives up to its name, offering a natural blurring that perfects texture and appears effortlessly radiant – a cornerstone of many popular aesthetics. Moving on to concealer, the NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop is a personal favorite for its versatility. Whether I’m aiming for full coverage or just a natural brighten, it builds beautifully without caking. The key to an aesthetic concealer application is to target imperfections and 'smooth undereye' areas without masking natural skin. Follow this with a finely milled powder like One/Size Loose Powder in Deep. This powder sets everything in place and provides a smoothing finish that blends seamlessly. It helps keep shine at bay while maintaining a soft, diffused look, which is far more aesthetic than a flat matte finish. For brows, the ABH Brow Freeze is my secret weapon for a clean, defined look. Neatly groomed brows frame your face, instantly elevating your entire makeup aesthetic. It’s not about drawing harsh lines, but about 'keeping brow hairs in place' to create a sleek, structured yet natural arch. This simple step makes a huge difference. Then there's the magic of blush and bronzer. To achieve an aesthetic, multi-dimensional look, layering is key. I adore the Juvia’s Place bronzer duo for adding warmth and subtle definition – creating soft shadows, not harsh contouring. And Rare Beauty blushes? Legendary for their 'pigmentation'! A tiny dot gives a beautiful flush. Shades like 'Love' or 'Grateful' give a healthy, youthful glow that looks internal. Layering a powder blush like Pat McGrath’s Paradise Glow on top sets the liquid and adds another layer of soft color, enhancing that ethereal, glowing aesthetic. Finally, the finishing touches truly seal the deal. The Charlotte Tilbury setting spray isn't just about longevity; it imparts a 'refreshing glow' that ties all elements together. It prevents makeup from looking dry and gives that coveted dewy finish. For lips, a simple Jack Black lip balm, NYX lipliner (in my natural lip color), and Dior Lip Oil in clear creates a juicy, hydrated pout. This combination enhances natural lip color and adds luxurious shine without being overly dramatic, perfectly completing that clean, polished aesthetic. Achieving an aesthetic makeup look isn't just about what you use, but how you use it. Always start with good skincare, blend meticulously, and apply products in light layers. The goal is to enhance, not conceal, letting your natural beauty shine. By focusing on products that offer smooth application, natural blurring, and beautiful pigmentation, you’re well on your way to mastering your own signature aesthetic.
