How I got Into Bible Journaling! ✞

These are the Spiral Bibles that got me into Bible Journaling. My husband brought me the volume set for me for Christmas last year, and time in God's Word just skyrocketed!!

I love that these can be purchased individually or a volume set. The volume set comes with 5 books in the ESV (English Standard Version) translation.

1. The New Testament

The New Testament reveals Jesus... His life, His teachings, His sacrifice, and the unstoppable hope of His resurrection. It shows how ordinary people were transformed by His presence and how the early church carried His message into the world. If you want to encounter grace that feels alive and personal, this is where to begin.

2. History (Joshua–Esther)

These books trace God’s faithfulness through battles, victories, failures, and unexpected turnarounds. They show real people navigating real challenges while God writes a bigger story behind the scenes. If you love narratives filled with courage, redemption, and divine plot twists, these pages will pull you in.

3. Pentateuch (Genesis–Deuteronomy)

The Pentateuch lays the foundation of everything creation, covenant, identity, and God’s relentless pursuit of His people. It reveals a God who forms, guides, corrects, and blesses, even when His people wander. Reading it feels like stepping into the origin story of both humanity and hope.

4. Poetry (Job–Song of Solomon)

These books give voice to the deepest parts of the human soul, joy, grief, longing, worship, and wonder. They remind us that God meets us not only in our victories but also in our questions and quiet nights. If you want Scripture that feels like music for the heart, this is your home.

5. Prophets (Isaiah–Malachi)

The Prophets call God’s people back to truth, justice, and wholehearted devotion while pointing forward to the coming Messiah. Their words cut through complacency and awaken hope, showing that God speaks into every generation with clarity and compassion. These books stir a holy longing for renewal... both personal and global.

... Read moreBible journaling has become a profound part of my daily routine, enriching not only my understanding of Scripture but also my connection with God. What truly helped me dive deeper into this practice was having the right tools—the Spiral Bible set in the English Standard Version (ESV). Each volume offers a unique perspective and the ability to personalize my study through journaling. Starting with the New Testament, I found myself captivated by the life of Jesus and His teachings. Journaling allowed me to capture thoughts, prayers, and revelations inspired by passages that speak to hope and grace. It was a way to make the Word more personal and alive. The History books, from Joshua to Esther, taught me invaluable lessons on perseverance and faithfulness. Bringing these stories into my journal helped me reflect on challenges and victories in my own life, recognizing God's faithfulness even in unexpected circumstances. Reading the Pentateuch deepened my appreciation for God's covenant and the foundations of our faith. Journaling here gave me space to explore themes of creation, guidance, and identity, linking ancient truths to modern-day applications. The poetic books, including Job and Psalms, became a sanctuary for expressing emotions—joy, grief, and longing. Writing reflections and verses in the margins helped me process my feelings and find solace in God's presence during difficult times. Finally, the Prophets' messages challenged me to live with integrity and hope. Journaling their words prompted me to evaluate my own spiritual walk and consider the broader call for justice and renewal. One practical tip I discovered is to approach Bible journaling not as a task but as a personal dialogue with God. Using highlighters, colorful pens, and sketches makes the experience creative and meaningful. Choosing a spiral-bound Bible with generous margins simplifies the process, providing ample room for notes and art. Incorporating journaling into my spiritual practice has been transformative. It’s not just about note-taking but about engaging deeply, listening attentively, and documenting my spiritual growth over time. For anyone interested in Bible journaling, selecting the right Bible, like the Spiral ESV set, can make all the difference in nurturing a vibrant and reflective faith journey.
