Why I chose FAMU! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’š

There are so many reasons why I decided to attend Florida A&M University!

Hereโ€™s my list of why:

1.) I wanted to attend an hbcu to be around people who were just like me after spending many years in a predominantly white school and community! I wanted to feel more connected to my culture! ( number 1 public hbcu)

2.) my parents are alumni ๐Ÿ’š

3.) my bestie was coming with me

4.) finding likeminded individuals & peers who uplifted me and could relate to some of my experiences and background!

What college do you go to?

... Read moreFlorida A&M University (FAMU) stands out as a prestigious institution that celebrates the cultural heritage and academic excellence of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). One key reason many students, including myself, choose FAMU is the opportunity to immerse in a supportive community that shares similar backgrounds and experiences. Attending an HBCU like FAMU allows students to connect deeply with their cultural roots, fostering a sense of belonging and identity that is often hard to find in predominantly white institutions. FAMUโ€™s rich traditions, vibrant campus life, and commitment to academic success empower students to thrive both personally and professionally. Moreover, the experience of attending FAMU means being part of a network of alumni who actively support current students through mentorship and career opportunities. This connection can enhance one's academic journey, as it provides guidance and encouragement from those who have successfully navigated similar paths. The university not only prides itself on its commitment to education but also focuses on developing well-rounded individuals. Activities such as community service, social events, and leadership programs enrich the FAMU experience, allowing students to grow holistically. Choosing FAMU is about more than just an education; itโ€™s an opportunity to engage with a legacy of excellence and community. As students embark on their college journeys, the bonds formed, cultural pride, and unique experiences at FAMU will undoubtedly shape their futures.
