Everyone loves showing off their most ridiculous holiday knitwear. You can even have a prize for the ugliest sweater, which always leads to hilarious photo ops. Cozy Christmas Movie Marathon: Ask everyone to come in their comfiest pajamas, bring their favorite holiday snack, and settle in for a night of classic Christmas films. Think hot cocoa bar, blankets, and plenty of popcorn! Winter Wonderland Brunch: If evening parties aren't your thing, host a beautiful brunch. Decorate with white, silver, and blue accents, serve festive mimosas or mocktails, and have a potluck of breakfast dishes. Delicious Bites & Festive Sips Food and drink are always at the heart of any good celebration. To keep things easy and communal, I often opt for a potluck style, assigning categories or asking everyone to bring their favorite holiday dish. This way, you get a wonderful variety of food without one person doing all the cooking! Build-Your-Own Stations: A taco bar, pizza station, or even a hot chocolate bar with all the fixings (marshmallows, whipped cream, sprinkles, candy canes) is always a hit. It allows everyone to customize their treats. Cookie Decorating Party: This is an activity and a dessert all in one! Bake a batch of plain sugar cookies or gingerbread in advance, then set out different colored icings, sprinkles, and candies. It's super fun and everyone gets to take home their edible creations. Signature Holiday Cocktail/Mocktail: Create a special drink for the evening. A cranberry spritzer, a cinnamon apple cider, or a sparkling pomegranate punch instantly makes the event feel more festive. Engaging Activities & Games Keep the energy high and the laughter flowing with some fun activities. My friends and I love games that encourage interaction and a bit of friendly competition. White Elephant or Secret Santa: A classic gift exchange is always a blast. For White Elephant, set a funny theme or a low price limit, and for Secret Santa, draw names a few weeks ahead to give everyone time to find a thoughtful gift. Holiday Trivia: Prepare questions about Christmas movies, songs, traditions, and history. Divide into teams and see who knows their holiday facts best! DIY Ornament Making: Provide blank ornaments (clear glass or wooden ones work well), paint, glitter, and other craft supplies.
