OMG, Oak Brook, you have to check out Taqueria Invicto! This new spot just opened its doors at 1715 W 22nd St, and I was so excited to be one of the first to try it. It's truly a fantastic addition to the local Mexican food scene, perfect for anyone searching for 'mexican food near me' or 'new mexican restaurant in oak brook'. From the moment I stepped in, the vibrant atmosphere and friendly service (which I rated 8.5/10!) made me feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food – because that's what we're all here for, right? I gave the food an 8.4/10, and it totally lives up to the hype. If you're looking for flavorful, authentic tacos and more, this is your place. I definitely recommend trying their Carne Asada tacos, which are a steal at just $3.80 each. The meat was perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. I also indulged in the Vampiro Plate ($13.49), which came with a Vampiro, a taco, rice, beans, and chips – it's a hearty meal and a great way to sample a few things. The Vampiro itself was crispy and packed with flavor, totally unique! For those who prefer chicken, they also have a delicious Chicken Vampiro for $5.10. Beyond the classics, I was really impressed with some of their specialty items. The Papas Especial ($7.99) were a standout, loaded with delicious toppings – a great alternative if you're craving something similar to 'loaded nachos near me'. And you absolutely cannot skip the Elotes ($5.25)! They were perfectly grilled and seasoned, a true street food delight. If you're into burritos, the Cali Burrito ($9.99) is generously sized and packed with all the good stuff. They also offer Mulas ($6.10), which are like a delicious, thicker masa tortilla sandwich. To wash it all down, they have some great beverage options. I loved seeing the classic Mexican Coke ($3.75) served in an 'old school beverage container', which adds a nice touch of authenticity. Their Aguas Frescas, like Pina and Horchata (both $4.50), are incredibly refreshing and made fresh. While I didn't see a full bar for 'good tequila restaurant' vibes, these drinks perfectly complement the food. For anyone looking for 'best restaurants in oak brook for lunch' or a casual 'dine-in mexican food near me' spot, Taqueria Invicto is a must-visit. The prices are very reasonable (8.4/10 on my scale!), making it a great option for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.
