Bathroom remodel before/after
The transformation began with a clean slate. We carefully dismantled the existing space, including the tub room, vanity area, water closet, walk-in closet, and even parts of the main level ceiling, to make way for the beautiful design you envisioned. Every plumbing fixture, tile, cabinet, and piece of trim was removed, while electrical and plumbing systems were safely capped and prepped for the new layout. Exterior walls were opened to install new windows, allowing natural light to flood the space.
With the rooms opened up, we rebuilt the structure to support their new layout. New walls and openings were framed, including headers for pocket doors and a cased opening to the bedroom. The wet room was designed to accommodate a freestanding tub, a shower niche, and custom shelving, blending form and function seamlessly. Rough openings were also framed for selected windows, enhancing the spa-like ambiance with increased natural light.
All plumbing systems were reimagined to support new fixtures. A sleek freestanding tub and elegant tub filler became the centerpiece of the space. The water closet was upgraded with a new toilet and bidet tailored to client specifications. Dual vanities now feature new faucets and plumbing, while the dual shower setup offers a luxurious experience with new valves, showerheads, and a linear drain for clean functionality.
To complement the new design, we rewired and upgraded the electrical system to meet lighting and power needs. This included installing recessed lighting, exhaust fans, and power for the bidet. Three beautiful vanity light fixtures were wired in to ensure the vanity area is both stylish and functional. New ducting was added for the exhaust fans to maintain air quality and moisture control. A new subpanel was also installed to handle the increased electrical demand.
This new space now features two tempered windows in the wet room for natural light and ventilation, along with two pocket doors that maximize flow and space efficiency. Carefully selected hardware and trim were finished to blend seamlessly with the rest of the home.
We installed stunning new hardwood flooring throughout the master bath and closet area, feathered perfectly into the existing bedroom flooring. After sanding and staining, the entire space flows beautifully. Baseboards, crown molding, and casing were added throughout the bathroom areas, along with custom cased openings that connect the new suite to the rest of their home. Thoughtfully designed wet-room shelving provides both storage and display, while finishes reflect their personal style and tie the room together.
The bathroom now showcases beautiful ceramic and porcelain tile in the shower, on the curb and pan, and across the water closet floor. A custom shower niche and new glass partition open up the wet room, while the double vanity features two sinks, two mirrors, and three stunning light fixtures. Hand-selected accessories, including hooks, towel bars, rings, and shelves, were professionally installed to match the layout.
To complete the transformation, we painted all new walls and ceilings in the bathroom and closet using the selected colors and sheens. Crown molding and trim were painted to unify the space, and the cased openings in the bedroom were finished to blend the new with the existing. We also touched up the kitchen, dining, and family room ceiling after accessing overhead plumbing, and matched the exterior siding and trim around the new windows to the existing finish.
This renovation was more than just a makeover — it was a reinvention. Your master bathroom now features a thoughtful, efficient layout with clean lines, abundant natural light, and calming colors. It’s a seamless extension of the client’s home’s character, and we truly enjoyed partnering with them on this journey.
A successful bathroom remodel is more than just updating fixtures; it’s about creating a cohesive, functional, and beautiful space that enhances everyday living. In this remodel, meticulous planning was crucial to orchestrate the removal of old elements—from the tub room and vanity to the walk-in closet and even parts of the ceiling—to serve a fresh vision. This clean slate approach allowed for a flexible layout that maximized space and natural light, crucial factors in modern bathroom design. Incorporating a freestanding tub as the centerpiece offers not only an elegant aesthetic but also a spa-like experience right at home. Paired with a custom tub filler and shower niche, the wet room balances practicality and luxury. The decision to install dual vanities with new faucets and lighting fixtures addresses the need for both function and style, greatly enhancing the user experience during busy mornings. Upgrading the water closet with a toilet and bidet tailored to specific client requirements underscores the shift toward personalized comfort in bathrooms. The dual shower setup, equipped with advanced valves, showerheads, and a linear drain, provides a clean and seamless water flow, reflecting thoughtful engineering. Electrical rewiring to accommodate recessed lighting, vanity fixtures, exhaust fans, and enhanced power for the bidet ensures energy efficiency and optimal illumination, all vital for a comfortable space. Proper ducting and a new subpanel maintain air quality and meet increased electrical demands. Choosing tempered windows not only brings in natural daylight, reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day, but also provides ventilation, which is essential to prevent moisture buildup and maintain the integrity of the space. The addition of pocket doors smartly conserves floor space and streamlines movement between rooms. The selection of flooring is an often underestimated element; here, new hardwood floors were seamlessly integrated with existing bedroom floors, uniting the suite aesthetically. Ceramic and porcelain tiles in the shower and water closet floors offer durability and easy maintenance while complementing the overall style. Attention to detail—like hand-selected hardware, towel bars, rings, and custom shelving—creates a harmonious and personalized environment. Painting with chosen colors and finishes, along with crown molding and trim, ties the entire suite together, reflecting the client’s distinct taste and ensuring the bathroom feels like an organic extension of the home. Overall, this bathroom remodel showcases how strategic structural changes, combined with modern fixtures and thoughtful design, can reinvent a tired space into a serene retreat. Anyone planning a bathroom renovation can draw inspiration from this example, emphasizing the importance of functionality, lighting, and integrating personal style to create a luxurious yet practical master bath.
