Starting esthetician school completely changed how I view skincare and self-care. One major thing I became more conscious of is the importance of skin types and conditions. Before, I simply used whatever product caught my eye, but now I pay close attention to ingredients and how they affect different skin types. Another realization was the significance of proper cleansing techniques. I learned that gentle removal of makeup and dirt without over-stripping the skin is crucial to maintaining a healthy barrier. This means double cleansing in some cases, especially with heavy makeup. Lastly, I’ve become more mindful about protecting the skin from environmental damage, especially UV exposure. Sunscreen is now a non-negotiable step in my daily routine, which I hadn’t taken as seriously before. This education has helped me adopt habits that promote long-term skin health and inspired me to share these insights with others interested in skincare.
