Motherhood, Midnight Calls & Meaningful Work
Never imagined I’d become a mum of two — especially while walking an unconventional path as a funeral director, where duty never really clocks out. 24/7 isn’t a schedule, it’s a calling.
Some days are exhausting. The juggling is real.
But every time I walk through the door and see my two boys, everything makes sense. 🤍
So grateful for my parents who love them like their own and stand beside me in this journey.
So thankful to do work that has meaning, and to be surrounded by people I love.
Truly blessed in more ways than one. ❤️🙏🏻

Being a working mother is no easy feat, especially when your profession demands constant availability like that of a funeral director. From my own experience, the juggling act involves more than just managing time—it’s about embracing the emotional highs and lows of both your personal and professional worlds. The 24/7 nature of funeral services means that midnight calls and unexpected emergencies can easily disrupt your family routine. However, having a support system makes all the difference. Just like the author shares gratitude for their parents helping with childcare, I’ve found that leaning on trusted family and friends allows me to recharge and be fully present both at home and at work. Finding meaning in your career can also provide powerful motivation to keep going during the most exhausting days. Funeral directing is unique in that it requires deep empathy and dedication, which can be emotionally taxing but also profoundly rewarding. For me, connecting with grieving families and helping them find closure brings a sense of purpose that fuels my resilience. Balancing motherhood and a demanding career also teaches invaluable lessons about setting boundaries and prioritizing self-care. Even though being on call feels like duty never clocks out, carving out moments to unwind and connect with your children is essential for maintaining your well-being and effectiveness. Ultimately, the love and support from family combined with a passion for meaningful work create a fulfilling, though challenging, journey. Every time I come home to my children, the exhaustion fades, replaced by gratitude and renewed strength to face the next shift. This balance is not perfect, but it is deeply rewarding, reflecting the true essence of working motherhood in unconventional careers.

妳好幸福,看着两个宝贝的成长. 我的孩子们小的时候,我每天忙着上班都没机会看到他们的成长.
