Do you have a makeup role model?
Mine was my great-grandmother. She lived into her 90s, and always looked fabulous, and enjoyed every minute of her makeup and skincare routine.
She was a fine artist and said: “Every morning, I approach my face as a canvas.”
She taught me it could express myself with makeup for myself. Not because I had to.
Who inspires you?
In the world of beauty and self-expression, the influence of role models cannot be understated. Many find inspiration in figures from their past, like family members or iconic celebrities, who embody a spirit of confidence and creativity in makeup. This influence shapes how we approach our own beauty routines, often transforming everyday practices into artful expressions. For instance, your great-grandmother's perspective, treating her face as a canvas, highlights the artistic nature of applying makeup. Such approaches not only enhance outer beauty but also boost inner confidence, making makeup a personal and empowering journey. Moreover, modern beauty culture has seen a resurgence of classic techniques and products, encouraging a return to timeless styles and artistry. Many influencers today share their makeup routines online, drawing on their personal role models while also serving as inspirations to others. Engaging with community discussions about beauty and role models can further solidify one’s own practices. Makeup is also about empowerment, and having a role model can inspire many to explore different styles and techniques, perhaps even experimenting with trends like the ARABICA routine or highlighting the significance of everyday makeup for enhancing natural beauty. By sharing and discussing these inspirations, individuals not only refine their own routines but also build a network of support and creativity within the beauty community.
