I thought I wanted to fit into the clean girl aesthetic and the vanilla girl aesthetic..

Turns out I just wanted to be clean and simple.. but with some ✨spice✨

I posted on here a while back that I was insecure about my tattoos and they gave me a body complex.

When I first tried to fit into the vanilla girl aesthetic, I struggled with insecurities, especially about my tattoos, which I once thought clashed with that clean, simple vibe. But over time, I embraced the idea that you can be a "vanilla girl" and still express yourself boldly. My 19 tattoos, for example, tell my story and make me feel confident rather than self-conscious. The vanilla aesthetic is often associated with softness, simplicity, and an understated look—but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring or restrictive. I discovered that true "vanilla" style can include personal flair and subtle spice that makes it authentic. For me, that meant keeping my style clean and easygoing but adding elements that represent who I really am. If you’re someone who resonates with the vanilla girl vibe but feels like you don’t fit the mold perfectly, remember it’s all about owning your uniqueness. Whether it’s your skin tone, your tattoos, or how you style yourself, authenticity shines brighter than any trend. A tip for anyone exploring this aesthetic: focus on what makes you feel good and comfortable. It’s not about fitting a hashtag or looking a certain way for others. It’s about creating a version of the vanilla girl aesthetic that works for you—simple, genuine, but with your own sparkle. For me, embracing vulnerability and rejecting insecurities has been liberating. I hope others who see "vanilla" as just one dimension realize it can be a beautiful base to build a truly personal and inspiring style.
