Nightstand Essentials For a Lazy Day in Bed :)

I don’t like when people say they rot in bed. I’ve struggled with mental health severely for the last couple years. Depression, Anxiety, Eating disorders, I was always “rotting in bed”.

Now I work 8:30-5 with weekends off. It was a very draining switch from my summer schedule and being in college.

Being said I do not like when people say rotting in bed, when drained I firmly believe in a rest day. After working all week and just doing life with that I think it’s very important to allow ourselves to rest while not thinking it’s rotting or bad for us.

Its also important to step outside for a few minutes!! During nice weather I like to sit outside in the morning with my coffee and a book. Even if it’s not nice I will try and get out with my dogs for a little bit or even a quick little walk. Because moving the body is so important. While resting is equally important.

Many people often feel guilty about resting or lounging around, but taking time to recharge is crucial, especially for those dealing with anxiety or depression. Simple items like hydration solutions, soothing lotions, and your favorite snacks can make a big difference in enhancing your comfort levels. Consider adding a quality moisturizer or lip balm, such as Aquaphor’s advanced therapy, to your nightstand. Hydration is key, especially if you are spending an extended period in bed. Additionally, a book or your favorite electronic device loaded with uplifting content can provide a welcome distraction. It’s also important to balance your resting time with short bouts of physical activity. Engaging in light stretches or a quick walk outside can help lift your spirits and combat feelings of sluggishness. Pair these activities with your favorite comfort snacks, like Lance Toast Chee, and good shows or music, which can provide a complete lazy day experience. Always remember to care for your mental health as much as your physical well-being. Embrace your lazy day as an opportunity to reset, allowing yourself to enjoy the simple pleasures and take a well-deserved break.
