I got robbed in Cali😳🆘
One year ago today. This all came up in my memories so why not share this terrible experience😅
Technically it was burglary just to clarify!!
My family and I went to California because my brother had a hockey tournament.
We flew into San Fransisco. We got there around noon, and picked up the rental car. We couldn’t check in to hotel until 4, so we went to eat and went to tour Alcatraz.
We ate and went back to the car all was good. So it must have been while we were in Alcatraz. Which is kind of ironic, we were touring an old prison and got burglarized while doing so.
We were walking back to the car and I could see my window was “down” so I thought. I thought my brother did it because when we went to the car after lunch, he changed in the car. In my mind I was thinking he accidentally hit the button to make the window go down.
We got closer and saw the glass shattered. Now more backstory, I have severe anxiety getting on planes and people and everything about this experience was already uncomfortable for me. I have been hospitalized numerous times. To try and think about it in a positive way, I did not go to the hospital passing out, I controlled myself😅
I started panicking because my bag was gone. With all of my medication (prescription) I would have loved to take in that moment. My makeup, shoes, computer, iPad, some clothes, 4 🛒, chargers. ALL OF THOSE KIND OF THINGS. Like it was my personal item on the plane. The one ALL of the important stuff is in.
MY BAG ONLY!!! My brother, mom, and stepdad all had their bags in there, my mom had her purse in her front seat. I honestly would have rather them taken my luggage with my clothes.
The police did nothing, they said it happens all of the time. The rental car gave us a new one with $0 cost because it happens “all of the time”. I got a police report to send my professors and be like “Hey I can’t do anything I have no devices”.
But yeah that was my first 5 hours in California and it was literally terrible😭😭😭
We went to Santa Cruz and other places as well which were beautiful. But honestly be careful if yall are in San Fran🫠🫠 Learn from me
If you are ever somewhere in high crime. TURN OFF YOUR DEVICES WITH BLUETOOTH. They track that stuff we believe they tracked my iPad and computer. DO NOT HAVE YOUR LUGGAGE SHOWING FROM THE WINDOWS!!!

I’m sorry this happened to you. I live near SF and this has happened to me and my partner 2 times now in SF. It really does happen all the time there smh.
