Beaded plants!
Here’s a couple of beaded plants I’ve made lately.
Materials you will need:
🪴 beads of your choice of shape and color
🪴 wire (size of wire depends on type of plant you want to make; viney, perky, etc.) thinner wire for more viney plants.
🪴 flower pot, coffee mug, or up-cycle an old candle jar by cleaning out left over wax
🪴 fake plant foam or styrofoam
🪴 wire cutters and scissors
🪴 moss, small rocks/ pebbles, or marbles for the “substrate”
🪴 hot glue gun
How to make it:
1. Start with your flower pot. Take the foam and cut it to shape inside of the pot, glue inside. This will be the base that the plant will be planted in.
2. Take your wire and cut 12 pieces of wire. They should be around a foot long for longer pieces. You can make different length strands or keep them all the same length depending on your desired look.
3. Take a wire and apply one bead to the end and twist it off to keep the rest of the beads on the strand. Apply beads until there is about two inches left of the bare wire. Do this 12 times.
4. Now to insert the wire into the foam. You can either twist all of the strands together and insert it into the center, or you can place them individually into the foam. I find twisting them is the easiest method but whatever works for you!
5. Take your hot glue gun and your choice of substrate material and glue it on around the plant you have created.
Now you have a beaded plant!!! 🫶🏻🌿🥰
