maintenance matters too 🤎

Maintenance matters too.

Sometimes when life hits..we begin to neglect ourselves.

We stop doing the things we enjoy.

Depression…life obstacles…can really cause you to neglect yourself.

You wake up , go through the motions of the day, then go to bed.

But that’s the opposite of what we should do.

You have to fight for yourself.

Get up…wear your fave outfit, throw on some lip gloss.

My mom used to say “when you look good, you feel good.”

And there’s definitely truth to that.

Whether it’s getting your nails done, returning to your favorite hobby, relaxing etc.

Take that time to take care of yourself because maintenance matters too. 🤎

... Read moreLife can sometimes feel overwhelming, and it's natural to let self-care slip through the cracks. From personal experience, I've noticed that dedicating even a few minutes to maintenance days can create a meaningful emotional uplift. For example, putting on my favorite outfit and applying lip gloss—even on a tough day—sparks a subtle but powerful mood shift. This small act reminds me to value myself and fight for my well-being. Another key element is incorporating hobbies or relaxing activities back into daily life. Whether it's reading, gardening, or simply listening to music, these moments recharge the mind and soothe stress. Getting nails done or engaging in similar pampering rituals rejuvenates not only the body but also the spirit. These simple steps serve as anchors, especially during periods of depression or hardship. The phrase "maintenance days matter too" is more than just words—it's a reminder to prioritize your needs despite life’s challenges. Taking ownership of these moments reinforces resilience and gradually restores joy and motivation. It helps break the cycle of just going through the motions and moves you toward genuinely feeling good. Remember, when you look good, you often feel good, creating a positive loop that benefits all areas of your life. Adopting a mindset that honors self-maintenance can transform daily routines and long-term mental health. It’s important to fight for yourself with compassion and patience. By consciously scheduling time for these nurturing activities, you build a foundation that supports emotional stability and overall happiness. Maintenance is not just about appearance—it’s a vital practice of self-love and renewal.
